It’s tough to explain but this race was more than a race in so many ways. It was a goal set out a year ago to give myself something to work towards. To get myself back in shape and feeling like me again. In that time I found so much more, I found a different and better version of myself. That spark dimmed by late nights and giving my all to every other area of life. I found how strong I can get and a determination to just keep building that. I found a community. I’ve made some amazing friendships I hope to have forever. A group of like minded individuals who will cheer you on regardless and not bring you down to being you up. I now watch my kids play and pretend to go work out. My son running around shouting look at my muscles. In Toronto I saw a young girl cheering on her mama, this brought tears in my eyes. I want that! I want Keira to grow up not concerned with her looks but what she can do with her body. To be strong and not afraid to do hard things. Cuz we can do hard things!!!

Toronto was the race where I saw my hard work pay off. To show myself I can… and WILL be again.

But man did it ever show support!! My family cheering me on, Keira making Goodluck bracelets. Dan giving me the time and ensuring I stick to my goals saying let’s do a workout after kids were in bed where I was about to look for an excuse not to. Him building me a wall ball target ❤️

It was seeing the whole @lift_by_anniefit lift community come together during there evening to watch out stars and send so many amazing messages. My trainer reminding me I have got this ao most importantly have fun and enjoy every min. To saying how proud she is, not as a trainer but as a genuine friend. @davesmythbc and @nates_006 showing up to cheer despite just getting in and having their own race the following morning.

@dkauwell coming along on a whim when I had no other option. Of course his amazing @eribelles_k wife suggesting it. It’s true if you’re running/training with someone you will dig deeper and go that extra!! .

So grateful for great friends, patio catch-ups, and the kind of conversations that make time go by way too quickly. 🥰

15 years married. Wild to think of all we’ve done together. There’s truly no one I’d rather be on this wild ride with. Love you so much, David Smyth. ❤️

This is what HYROX is all about.

These men show up twice a week and put in the work together.
They sweat together, push each other, tease each other relentlessly 😂, encourage each other and keep showing up no matter what.

Then to watch it all come alive out on that HYROX track is honestly unreal , emotional even

Seeing the hard work, grit, determination and camaraderie play out in real time makes me so proud.

Great job today Dean & Josh 👏
You represented yourselves and our community so well.

Now let’s goooo Dave & Nate for tomorrow 🔥
Your turn to leave it all on the track.

Love this crew so much xo

A few weeks late, but I still wanted to post! Philippines stops 3, 4 & 5: El Nido Coron and Manila.
El Nido was an absolute favourite for sure, with its own incredible beaches, plus all the island hopping you could ask for. We did private tours, which allowed us to do a combination of Islands from Tours A, C and D, including snorkelling, caves (on foot) caves (by kayak), beach time, swimming and fishing! Plus we did the Island-to-Island zip line from Vanilla Beach, rented scooters (lightly terrifying), and headed out to places like Nacpan beach for the ultimate beach escape.
Once we got to Coron, nature finally forced us to slow down a bit, so we had a chilled out last few days. Sunsets and an infinity pool. Well worth it to cap off our trip!
Manila, we just had an overnight stay, so we headed to BGC High Street (with my Market! Market!) and the Grand Canal (to get out of the sweltering heat!).
All in all, an incredible 2 weeks!

Philippines stop #2! Moalboal, Cebu. Amazing time canyoneering, including the zip line to start, followed by an epic snorkelling experience with the Sardine Run. I’ve never had so many turtles so close by! ❤️ 🐢 🤿
