Spartan Weekend in a very wet and soggy Orlando. Pulled out a 2nd place Age Group in Saturday's 10K Super and 1st place Age Group in Sundays 5K Sprint. Saw many familiar faces including several from Team USA at World Obstacle Championships in Ireland.

Super fun and always nice to come home with a little extra hardware. by @david.konz.925

Decided to give the Spartan Killington Ultra another go. Felt strong and better prepared than last year and was on pace going into transition.

Unfortunately an electrolyte imbalance caused significant hand swelling and a concerning blood pressure spike. That along with knee and hip pain on any descent made the decision for me. Another DNF.

For those curious, I over saturated my hydration pack with Tailwind causing over salting from electrolytes which then led to dilution of my blood volume causing both swelling and high BP. Everything normalized in a few hours but with HCM, you have to be careful.

After NJ and Killington 2026, I think I'm over the mountain ultra phase of my racing career. 5 - 21k's are fun and create actual racing opportunities. Perhaps chasing the world marathon majors is next (now that I got into London 2027).…..... by @david.konz.925

Fun Time Early Childhood Academy Labor Day 5K at Sugden Park. Been chasing an official 5K PR so thankful this course ended up being just a shade over.

A very fun and extremely well organized event.

Close race in the Sr Grand Master division but managed a 2nd place finish. by @david.konz.925

Spartan decided to add a Sprint at the World Obstacle World Championship event held in Limerick Ireland. Had plenty in the tank after Saturday's 12K and Spartan obstacles aren't challenging compared to World Obstacle. Pushed hard and secured a 1st place podium for an all USA sweep. Good finish to a fantastic week representing Team USA 🇺🇸☘️ by @david.konz.925

Stepped into a local 5K @snipcollier @gcrunners

A fun race with good turnout and amazing volunteers. Plus got to race with another amazing runner followed by breakfast in lively downtown Naples

A solid 24:24 PR good for 2nd in Age Group. Gotta be the shoes 😉🐢🤣 by @david.konz.925

From NJ cold and rain to Tampa Raymond James Stadium hot and humid. 5th place but only 7 seconds behind 3rd and 30 seconds behind 2nd place.

Stairs stairs and more stairs!!!

Can never tell where you stand in this type of race so have to make sure and push to the finish. by @david.konz.925

@spartan New Jersey last weekend for the 32.5 mile 12k feet of elevation Ultra. Weather changed overnight so 'raced' in 40 degrees and steady ran all day long. The Mountain Creek ski resort turned into a slip and slide and the cold rain resulted in ~50% of the field dropping out. Hypothermia was real as all finishers required mandatory medical checks and I couldn't stop shaking for a good 30 minutes. Good for 2nd place Age Group and survived to tell the tale!!! taken in Vernon, New Jersey by @david.konz.925

@spartan Palm Beach Sprint weekend. 4th in Saturday's National Series and 3rd Sunday. Very competitive age group finishing 17th overall on a rainy Sunday. Felt good to be in the mix up until the very end even though a couple late decisions cost me a position both days. by @david.konz.925

So proud to be a part of the 2026 USA National OCR Team competing at the World Championships in Limerick Ireland on August 6-9. So many extremely talented and accomplished athletes of all ages representing the USA. Humbled to be able to compete as part of this incredible team!!

How better to start a new race season than to jump into the Naples Half Marathon!!! Ran with 1,500+ athletes including a couple incredible amazingly special people.

Where other than SWFL can you run shirtless in mid-January!! Nice to run flat and easy but can't wait to get back to obstacle course racing. by @david.konz.925

Quick recap of the 2026 season.

Out of 10 competitive events; 3 1st and 2 2nd place finishes in the 55-59 Age Group. Also managed to podium in all 5 race distances from 5K to 50K!! Last year before moving up so very happy with the 2026 season

Became.an ambassador for #athleticbrewing which is fantastic since that is my go-to these days. Seeing them at finish lines around the country is AMAZING!!

Also had my first ever DNF at the Killington Ultra after missing the last cutoff by less than 5-minutes. Nothing like running for nearly 30 miles and 13,000 feet of elevation change only to walk away empty handed. Going back in 2026 for that MF'er 🤫
