Thursday night at The Proms where we had dinner, very posh, at Coda up near the roof and affording a view of my Alma Mater, RCA, plus Prince Albert from above. Then the Bach Mass in B Minor, never heard by me before , and wondrous! Having neglected the proms for a long time have been going regularly when in town and what a feast they are! To be in these times listening with 6000 others to beautiful beautiful music is a great privilege! by @davidbentheim

🎶 STORMY WEATHER 🎵🎶🎼🎶 A night of lightning (a lot) thunder (some) rain(a little) a bit of a relief in fact. (I love that song especially by Adelaide Hall and/or Lena Horne or brilliantly by Elizabeth Welch in Derek Jarmen’s film of the Tempest. It’s the perfect song for a storm obv! by @davidbentheim

Despite being in Majorca managed to miss the “big” event but felt an almost electric change as it happened. What we do d see is a flotilla of boats making their way to and from the eclipse and the whole evening was magical - good enough say I. by @davidbentheim

Just a few delights from @treasurehousefair which I should have posted earlier to encourage you to go down there to thank them for inviting me!! It’s always a large dipping tray of so many delights. This year, obv, everybody had got out their Hockneys and very desirable they all were- why oh why did I not buy the prints outside of the Marlborough Gallery when they were one hundred and fifty quid in days of yore! It’s was also a perfect chill so don’t forget to go next year! by @davidbentheim

The most extraordinary Billy Budd @glyndebourne on the most perfect evening! We saw it when it opened 16 years ago and it was very bit as wonderful. The orchestra surpassed itself and the all male choir and thunderous drums both on and off stage just transported you into another world. Billy himself very very moving! We did miss our New York pals who couldn’t make it and whose generosity got us there and thus missed a fantastic night - soon I hope (coded message!). by @davidbentheim

@studiolo.projects last night which despite broiling heat was fabulous and we were so lucky to have been invited! The one night exhibition was invigorating and as each exhibitor could show only 6 pieces - the cream of the crop. Huge thanks as ever to @jvh_old_masters to whom we are always indebted. by @davidbentheim

Jane Makveigh aka Mrs Anthony Bourne threw a fabulous evening, if a broiling one, in aid of @finecellwork. Fashion luminaries abounded abd totally delicious dinner - don’t know how she did it! In any case do look up their site as it is packed with really smart gifts - cushions a’plenty. So please help as the work lowers reoffending in prison to 3 percent! by @davidbentheim
