I still can’t believe we tied. With over 10,000 voters, it is a nearly impossible outcome. The best part of this tie is how it proves that every act of support we received along the way was the reason we were there. If we received one less vote, we would not have been on that stage. To share this moment with @two_people_exchanging_saliva makes it even more special. @nmusteata and Alexandre made a beautiful film that took big swings and generated unprecedented international attention towards short films. Making an absurdist black and white French short film that has broad appeal is a historic feat. We’re beyond honored to have our films forever connected to each other. To every single person who contributed to @thesingersfilm in any way, we truly share this Oscar with you. We cannot thank you enough. I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a special thank you to our family at @netflix. The people behind the logo are genuine, kind, hardworking, talented artists and it’s been an honor to work with them. And of course, thank you to @theacademy ✨ by @davidbreschel

It's big brother Oscar and evil little brother Cthulhu posing together in this family portrait at golden hour from the producer of @thesingersfilm @davidbreschel. After "The Singers" won our Grand Prize Short Film award in 2025, and then went on to win in a tie for the live action short film Oscar @theacademy with another @filmquest 2025 winner (Best Foreign short) "Two People Exchanging Saliva," we asked them if they could send us a photo of the two golden trophies posed together, and boy did they deliver! One last massive congrats to both "The Singers" and "Two People Exchanging Saliva" on their history making wins and for elevating genre to even greater heights! #filmquest #oscars #academyawards #provo #downtownprovo #genrefilm #thefantastic #thebestofthebest #wearefilmquest #filmquest2026 #utah #cthulhu #cthulhuart #lovecraft #filmfestival #genre #scifi #fantasy #horror #cosmichorror #2026festival #welcome #topfest #awards #filmmaking #awardwinner #trophy #shortfilms taken in Los Angeles, California by @davidbreschel

WORLD PREMIERE: Last year we all got together to make a short film based on a true story about using an AI therapist. Within a year, that little short grew into the feature film @circles.movie   We’re excited to share that the original short, USELESS, will have its World Premiere at @raindancefilmfestival and its North American Premiere at @rooftopfilms in New York this summer.   More soon on how USELESS became CIRCLES but in the meantime, we’re so excited to share this film with audiences in London and New York. by @davidbreschel
