Missing my Best Friend this day.🖤 Steven “Chubby” Brooks birthday. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years already. I miss him more every day. He was such a great friend and great inspiration to me. He knew how to make the most of every situation and always made it FUN! We had some amazing times together… whether it was in Del Mar or Vegas, it was the BEST! Six years ago today, I lost my mother.
And somehow, even after all this time, there are still moments where it doesn’t feel real.

Mother’s Day has never been the same since she passed. It’s a day filled with love, gratitude, memories… and a quiet ache that never fully leaves. But today, more than sadness, I want to honor her.

My mother was one of the most important people in my life. She shaped who I am in ways I continue to discover every year. Her strength, her warmth, her sacrifices, her guidance, her heart — they live inside me every single day.

She taught me how to care deeply for people.
How to keep going when life feels heavy.
How to love through actions, not just words.
And how to show up for the people who matter.

There are so many things I wish I could still tell her. So many conversations I wish we could have now. I wish she could see the person I’ve become and the life I continue to build. But I carry her with me in everything I do.

Sometimes I catch myself saying something she used to say, or reacting the way she would, and for a brief second it feels like she’s still here beside me.

Grief changes over time, but love never does.

Today I celebrate her.
I thank her.
I miss her deeply.
And I honor the incredible mother she was.
