Here’s a quick look at a music video I shot while in the heart of the Pandemic. A big shout out to my limited crew that helped make this possible. Even without big rigs and long days we somehow found a way to get artistic and weird with it. Artist: @desuremusic Sony: Masochist Director: @collinduddy Producer: @jesseweseloh Prod. Had the awesome pleasure of helping shoot this segment for @fallontonight with @bradpittofflcial, for the film Bullet Train, out now in theaters. There are so many people at the Tonight Show that keep this well oiled machine greased, it’s an incredibly impressive operation. But I wanted to give a shout out to my team here in LA, and all the hard work they do to help me look good. Check out my new DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY show reel! This is a compilation of my favorite works as a cinematographer from the last few years. Filmmaking is a team sport, and there are so many people who are equally responsible for the work showcased here. Everyone from the Producers that hire me, Directors that trust me with their visions, to the Makeup Artists and Art Directors who’ve put in the time to make what’s in the frame worth seeing. To all the operators who have put their sweat into my work, I am forever thankful. If any of your work is feature here, know that your collaborative contributions are beyond appreciated and all of you hold a special place in my heart. Tag yourself and let people know! #directorofphotography #cinematographer #cameraman #demoreel #showreel #compilation #film #filmmaking #cinematography #digitalcinema #cameradepartment #losangeles #setlife #anamorphic #DP #DoP #filmphotography #love #behindthescenes #video #cinephile #hollywood #cine #cinema #commercial #shortfilm #featurefilm by @daviddklassen

It’s been a wild 6 months directing season 3 of Expedition Files, a marathon of genre films and epic mysteries. Resulting in learning as much about filmmaking as I have about history through the process. A huge thank you to the cast, crew, and executives who’ve made this show possible. Every day is a marvel of creative and technical teamwork, which makes every day a new adventure. A special thank you to @gatesygram and @bkoolman for having the vision and faith to see this thing made. To my co-director @dzagayer, thank you for always problem solving and shoulder such a massive workload so we can make every day happen. THE CAST! There are too many of you to mention by name, but if you’ve even done one day with us, you are a part of this show forever. And our ragtag crew of overqualified creatives! In honor of it being Star Wars week, I wanted to share this little 3d render sequence I was commissioned to make for a Boba Fett fan film. Modeled, textured, animated and rendered all completely in Blender. Happy with the results even though the film ended up being canceled and this will probably only ever be seen by you guys. Happy Revenge of the 6th everyone, and may the Force be with you. Sound design also done by me, with the help of the KOTOR developers sound library. #starwars #bobafett #slave1starwars #blender #3dmodeling #3danimation by @daviddklassen
Went to @thebroadmuseum recently and found myself inspired to do a little 3d. This is an interpretation of “Ballon Dog,” by Jeffrey Koons… only slightly more literal. #blender #blender3d #3d #3dart #modernart #jeffreykoons #koons #broadmuseum #cyclesrender #fisheye #animation #simulation #sim #dog #ballondog #balloon #losangeles by @daviddklassen
Another bit of 3d Rendering since the last one was so well received. This one is my interpretation of how it feels to be a freelance worker waiting for that next gig. There’s some really cool stuff happening in these shots, beyond the obvious and adorably depressed Storm Trooper. First of all, the movement and acting of the model itself is all mocap of yours truly. Using only my iphone I was able to shoot live plates of me doing the movement, and then convert it into motion capture data through Rokoko Studios. That motion capture data was then married to the model of the Storm Trooper and BAM!!! No key-framing or animating necessary. Then, again with only my Iphone, I was able to capture full 360 HDRI images to mimic the lighting and reflections of the real world in the 3d model. Check out the reflections in the floor on the shot where the stormtrooper is brutally murdering my dog. Such a small addition that adds so much. Let me know what you think, I was definitely planning on making more of these.
