Thank you @bdisgusting for the tickets to a free early screening of DOLLY starring @campswinelake cast member @_theyaremax_ in the terrifying, titular role! It was lovely to catch up with @campswinelake SFX wizards/ friends @yellowmothmakeup and @alsolfx (and lovely in a demented way to see their acclaimed work on the big screen at @amctheatres 🤯). I’m definitely biased, but this film’s practical gore effects made me deeply uncomfortable in all the best ways. DOLLY is in theaters Friday March 6th! Congratulations to @adams.family.films on screening Mother of Flies at @ifccenter (!!!) as part of its @shudder showcase series!!! It was lovely seeing @zeldadams again and (finally!) meeting @tobyposer and @therealluluadams in person! They have been nothing but kind, supportive, and generous towards me and my work, which has truly meant the world. Swine of the Dead! 🐷🧟‍♂️ After seeing @runningmanmovie I had the honor of meeting my favorite director working today Mr. @edgarwright From Shaun of the Dead to (the underrated) Last Night in Soho, his irreverent sense of humor and endlessly creative visual style were a huge influence and inspiration when making @campswinelake Although our interaction was brief, he shared three valuable insights with me and a few other fans.1. Make sure all the money shows up on screen.2. Make it look more expensive than it is.3. Whether you’re making a low-budget indie or a big-budget blockbuster, the sun goes up and goes down the same way.Although I felt like Chris Farley in the sketch where he meets Paul McCartney, I mustered up the courage to tell him that I just made my first feature for @tromateam and he was kind and encouraging. Go see @runningmanmovie as soon as you can! NOW! 🏃🏻‍♂️🐖🏃🏻‍♂️ by @davideogreen

Had a blast at the US premiere of @occupycannesdoc at @brooklynhorrorfest with @unclelloydkaufman and the @tromateam !! Congratulations to @lilyhayeskaufman and the whole family. It was lovely to meet you all. With retrospective screenings of Def by Temptation and Bugged, the @tromateam presence at @brooklynhorrorfest was palpable! Thank you so, so much to everyone who came out for our work-in-progress test screening of @campswinelake last Friday!!! I was pretty nervous leading up to it, but it really was such a blast seeing it with a packed audience for the first time. Surrounded by a mix of friendly strangers, our dedicated cast/crew, and my closest friends/family, the laughs were constant and the energy in the room was palpable. I can’t wait to unleash this hog-wild, yet heartfelt movie into the world and kickstart our festival run next year. Here’s to many more killer screenings of the next @tromateam cult classic in the making!!! Hard to believe that, 1 year ago today, we arrived at that summer camp &, 1 year ago tomorrow, we officially started shooting @campswinelake . These photos are from our 1st day filming at camp. Really feels like much longer ago. It might sound overdramatic for a pig-zombie movie, but there’s a piece of me that never fully left that camp, for better & for worse. After wrapping the film, I questioned everything about myself & had to work very hard to remember who I really was/am. To say I learned a lot would be a huge understatement. It was a bittersweet time. It’s taken me a long time to heal, forgive myself/others, & accept the fact that, despite my many mistakes & all the things I could’ve done better, I did the best I could making my 1st feature film. I was lucky enough to see @mnight Shyamalan speak after a screening of Lady in the Water & he talked about the importance of manifestation/coincidences in his life/work. His dorm was covered with Spielberg posters, produced by Kennedy/Marshall. Their names in the billing block were the last thing he saw before shutting his eyes & the first thing he glimpsed when waking up. Little did he know he would work with them both. Sure, he got incredibly lucky & most of us won’t experience that. But still. I went to this screening to hear him speak/not knowing much about the movie & I was pleasantly surprised to hear that, although I was mixed on it, what Shyamalan considers his most personal film was released in 2006, the same year I saw Barnyard with my mom, which was the first movie I can remember watching in a movie theater. It’s also the year I chose to set Swinelake in as a tribute to that formative moment in my life/filmmaking journey. While shooting Swinelake, 2006 kept popping up. At the camp, “Teens ‘06” happened to be prominently painted on a switch box. When we needed a car for a scene, we used our AD’s. A 2006 Honda Odyssey. The craziest of all was that, unbeknownst to me, Penelope, an obscure @riccigrams film about a girl with a pig snout which terrified me as kid, also came out in ‘06. I don’t know what it all means, but it feels like a sign to keep going, even when things get tough.🐽0️⃣☠️❤️☠️6️⃣🐽 by @davideogreen
