DavidGregHarth.com New Website Launch
—⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
My past website was slowly decaying since 2012. This COVID-19 pandemic gave me an opportunity to sit down and put together a spanking new website. Check it out! It has lots of work - never seen before work including videos and photographs and drawings, an archive of past childhood work, a comprehensive press section and for the first time, a very easy way for you to finally collect some of my work.

October 4, 2023: Announcing “Get To Work! You Big Babies!” an open edition of products that lift your spirits, hopes and dreams.

Anyone who follows acclaimed art critic @jerrysaltz knows that he encourages his audience by saying “Get To Work! You Big Babies!” I remember seeing his handwritten yellow note posted on Facebook in 2019. It had an impact on me. Like many artists and many people, I deal with depression. I’ve had huge lows and ultimate highs. Those lows can be really low. I’ve had a mixed reaction to his words. I often feel he doesn’t know how depressed an artist can get. But then he was an artist and we all know the history of his mother too. So maybe he does. But then I flip and take his words and they sometimes lift me out of the darkness. If you’re like me, and you may find these words inspirational, I have something you may be interested in.

9/11 - September 11th, 2001 - 25 years ago today. Felt like yesterday. A sunny blue-sky day. From the roof of my building in lower Manhattan, I watched the Twin Towers collapse.
—
The things I remember most:
.
The smell of burning in the air, well into November. I wore a mask frequently when south of 14th street.
.
Signs posted everywhere by people searching for their loved ones. Signs on walls, hospitals, news trucks, military trucks, buildings, fences, mailboxes, phone booths, lampposts, police barricades, windows, etc.
.
Numerous military vehicles, emergency vehicles and construction vehicles. NUMEROUS. Everywhere.
.
There is more love than hatred in this world
.
I was reminded once again that New York City is the best city in the world

September 10
–
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.⠀
–
Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide in the world (WHO). Every 11 minutes, someone dies by suicide in the USA (CDC).
–
Suicide is a global public health issue. All ages, sexes, and regions of the world are affected. Lives are lost, while suicides are preventable. Reach out for help. Talk. You are not alone.
–
In the USA: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline dial 988 (or SMS/Text)
–
I have lost too many friends to suicide. If you need to talk, I’m here for you.

Today is Monday. Here I am in my Monday shirt.
—⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Several weeks ago I made a trip to Wyoming, Utah, & Idaho - While I was there I was often off the grid. I stayed off social media. I shut out the chaos for a bit. So I’m posting this photo now. Even when I’m hiking with bears, bison, beavers, birds, badgers and bees or exploring Robert Simthson’s Spiral Jetty; I still wear my day-of-the-week shirts.
