@kyraweeks came through last night to help us dial in the lighting and the set is READY for Saturday 🤍

If you haven’t RSVP’d yet—get on it, what’re you even doing? 🎟️ link in bio

ICYMI this stunning backdrop was handmade by @ash.e.brown + @brookebown of @maisonchatzky from scrap material and our neighbor, fashion designer @byVINNIK heard what we were doing and showed up with actual patchwork pieces from her collection to shoot in 🤗

Can’t wait to capture all of you and your fits on this set 📸 by @davidherschorn

I’ve been so inspired by the people coming together around this event.

I can’t believe what we’re living through. This system that has been built to suck life out of the world; and people cheering it on.

Patchwork is part of the new system. Circular. Local. Rooted in community. Not buying new things.

This Saturday, April 11 · 1-5pm · The Expo · LA

Re-use is the only trend that matters. No to war. No to trash plastic clothes. No to fast fashion. Be part of the solution....and have fun doing it!

scrap fabric → photoshoot backdrop = Patchwork ♻️
April 11 @the.expo.la in Los Angeles. Free to attend (21+).

@ash.e.brown + @brookebown of @maisonchatzky came through yesterday and created this backdrop from leftover material for the pop-up photoshoot at Patchwork. These two are beyond talented — come learn from them at their workshop at Patchwork.

I’m very excited to announce an event I’m hosting: Patchwork

Saturday 4/11 1-5pm at The Expo, 4615 Exposition Blvd.

It’s a clothing swap + much more...really a celebration of sustainable style with photos, tacos and margs during @laclimateweek (April 8-15). Pass along some clothing you’ve moved on from and leave with some rad new pieces.

🍹 @drinkyuzy is serving margaritas
🌮 @tierrataco will be selling plant-based tacos
📸 I’ll be running a pop-up photoshoot (@photo_bohemia)
📍 Hosted at my space @the.expo.la

As an event-within-an-event, my friends @ash.e.brown @brookebown are hosting their inaugural @maisonchatzky workshop + upcycling atelier in the Parlor.

We’d love to have you there! Info & RSVP at link in bio.

Also looking for a couple more volunteers, hit me up if you’d like to help 🙏 taken in The Expo by @davidherschorn

A couple months ago I heard some very loud machinery outside the studio and went out to see what was going on.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw a fire truck—one of the big boys with the separate cab + trailer—fully extended over our lot to the roof of @toybox.rentals 😳

Turns out they were just practicing. This zone belongs to Fire Station 94, “C” Platoon and they drive around running drills on buildings that might be tricky in a real situation. Which is pretty tight. Shout out @losangelesfiredepartment

I gave them a quick tour of the studio which turned into an impromptu portrait session.

These guys are awesome. Thank you for looking out for our neighborhood 🚒

And on that note...fire safety is no joke and it’s a core value at both @the.expo.la and @photo_bohemia. We’re licensed flame retardant applicators and now provide treatment services for production, events, and interior design pros.

Stay safe out there 🔥 by @davidherschorn

“Everybody loves Cristian. You’re so lucky to have him.”

Everybody says that and I couldn’t agree more.

When we first met at a fateful desert soirée hosted by @doneandun, I had no idea we’d end up working and traveling this closely together. Cristian’s been in the trenches with me ever since, building @photo_bohemia and @the.expo.la from the ground up, brick by brick, frame by frame...and made it so fun.

There’s nobody else I’ve spent more 2am rides with, or had more laughs with, in the last year. Here’s to you, Cristian — turning 30 in style, cruising into a new decade of adventures! 🫶 @shot.by.cv @tiny.hangover by @davidherschorn
