Brooke’s Cake Picnic 2026 🍰🌼🥂

A few years ago, cake picnics became a thing, and I’ve wanted to go to one ever since. When one finally came to LA, it sold out immediately—and it was $50 plus you still had to bring a cake.

So I thought, why pay $50 to eat cake with strangers when I could eat cake with my friends?

And that’s how Brooke’s Cake Picnic was born.

I love making little excuses to bring people together, and there’s something so special about seeing an idea that only existed in your head become a real afternoon with people you love.

Very lucky to have such wonderful, creative, silly people in my life! 🍒

“So much beauty, power, talent, and celebrity hasn’t been collected in one room since a great Inaugural Ball.”
- Gloria Steinem, in an essay for Vogue magazine on her experience at Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball (January 1967)

On November 28, 1966, Truman Capote, author of “Breakfast at Tiffany” and best known for his friendships with New York’s wealthiest women, hosted his epic masked Black and White Ball at the Plaza Hotel. The guest list included 540 international dignitaries, celebrities and members of royalty.

Fast forward 60 years later and I decided to host a mini version of Capote’s Black and White Ball for my birthday dinner last month. Almost 40 of my friends RSVP’d and we took over one of my favorite restaurants in LA, Taylor’s Steakhouse.

The best part was seeing everyone commit to the vintage old Hollywood glamour theme. Big thank you to everyone who showed up! YOUR beauty, power, talent and FRIENDSHIP means so much to me!

Special thank you to @desertdaisyjewelry for loaning your runway piece from @surturbans - she was the star of the show!
