i’m thrilled to share one of my biggest personal projects yet that i self-produced and directed. i recently had the opportunity to pitch an idea to Dad Dogs: reimagining their classic menu board as a “lookbook-style” lifestyle menu. instead of a traditional list or sporadic polished food photography, the new design features minimalist text and curated visuals, inviting customers to browse the menu like they would a fashion catalog — choosing their meal by mood and style rather than just by name.

i’ve visit plenty of restaurants that use food photography to capture attention, and it’s always effective — often much more so than a plain list of items. but since my work leans toward lifestyle, this became my own take on what a restaurant menu could be.

our menu was designed by aaron easler, who was able to bring a retro style that correlates with the time capsule style of dad dog’s interior ecstatic.

a huge thank you to the staff and owner katelyn at dad dogs who trusted me to come into their space and bring this project to life. I am grateful!

more to share as i show off the video element of my latest personal project.

my original idea came from how i wanted to reimagine the hip diner restaurant: dad’s dog and burger’s, classic menu board as a “lookbook-style” lifestyle menu. instead of a traditional list or sporadic polished food photography, the new design features minimalist text and curated visuals, inviting customers to browse the menu like they would a fashion catalog — choosing their meal by mood and style rather than just by name.

with doing this production i wanted to capture our still elements in video for sublimenting the social content and mixing the two medias.

working alongside @spencerthecaptain as my camera operator and DP, as i directed talent to carry out our actions.

i love getting to direct between shooting stills.

i might be the only person that goes to nyc to relax. this month i got to escape after a big project that too all my physical and mental energy to throw myself into nyc with good friend @tylerbergholz to do absolutely nothing. there with the main goal of soaked up art and inspiration and eating great food which happen to be smash burger after smash burger. well i did grab some broll for a side project so now back in pgh and focusing on that project and a handful of other projects and side quest. - i never really wanted to live in new york but i definitely envy the folks that do it. thanks for viewing my snap•snaps. taken in Crif Dogs by @davidkelly.co

i was back in @thejunglepgh to shoot my shots. it’s been an absolute pleasure to photograph and interact with these young men. the heart and integrity these kids play with is motivational. its enriching to see what the organization is doing to make this happen - which is brought you by these fellas below and more that are not listed.

recently ive been having the most fun with my camera this year. i have felt in a flow state with creating with my camera more than ive felt in years past. its been really cool to witness. definitely when it comes to my personal work. i’m capturing at some of @thejunglepgh games this summer. just playing and having fun with creating and connecting with others.
