Reconnaissance
This was one of a sequence of photos of a riverside scene where vultures were seen swooping low over a herd of wildebeest contemplating crossing where crocodiles lurked.
I updated the processing recently to add a little contrast and to see what black and white might look like. I think I know the answer to that one but I’m posting both anyway.

Paint by Numbers
For the most part wildebeest cross the river during the heat of the day, where the light quality is less optimal with hard shadows and subdued colour. Occasionally though they may go earlier when it’s cooler and more vibrant (second picture) just as they did here as the sun was on its way up.

Flehmen Response
I took this picture in 2009 and rendered it in Photoshop because I had not had a hold of Lightroom then as it was only two years young at the time. Soon afterwards I did start to use Lightroom exclusively but a few pictures like this one remained processed in Photoshop.
As an exercise I sought to replicate the original Photoshop rendering solely using Lightroom Classic. It was a good task to see what could be achieved and I managed to get quite close to the original.
Can you tell which of the two is the original Photoshop render and which is the new Lightroom one? Should I update or just retain the original?
