I’m not going to stand here and call myself a DJ—especially with so many talented DJs out there (including many close friends who are crushing it). But what I can confidently say is that the collection I’ve built over the years now ranks among the most significant in the world. What started over a decade ago with buying a turntable and casually picking up vinyl soon evolved into an obsession with rare, unreleased, and historically significant tracks—many unavailable digitally or on CD.

Many of the rarest pieces aren’t vinyl at all—but “acetates”: metal discs coated in lacquer and cut on-demand by lathe. Before CDJs and USBs, these were essential DJ tools—custom one-offs used to test or perform unreleased material in clubs.

Today, my archive contains records and acetates that hold unmatched historical value, including exact copies used to create legendary mixes by some of electronic music’s greatest pioneers. Among these artists are multiple DJ Mag #1 DJs, who during dance music’s formative years elevated DJing into the globally celebrated career it is today. Many of these items are unique worldwide, with original master recordings lost even to the artists themselves.

What once felt like luck, I now recognize as the product of will, determination, sacrifice—and the support of friends and collectors across the globe. Preservation is now central to my mission. Together with my partner in crime @superprogressive, I’m working on projects that aim to protect the legacy and mystique of these iconic tracks—released and unreleased—while enabling fans to connect with them in new ways.

Special thanks to Pete Bromley (@backinthedaystoke) & @daveseamandj, Adrian Nicholl (@hidden.agenda.dj), @djchrisfortier, @djnickwarren (those are his crates in the pic), @trevfun303, Dan Willis & @amplifydhq, @djsashaofficial, and @tiësto (the only one here I’ve never personally interacted with). And finally, @pauloakenfold—whose 700+ acetates are the most extraordinary recent addition. Huge thanks to Chris and Chadwick of @therecordparlour, and my friend Brian D., whose belief in the mission made it all possible.

More soon on this collection and the DJs who shaped it—stay tuned! by @davidlovas

Back in July, I hosted the 3rd edition of @aboveaverage.to in NYC with a very special guest, @superprogressive

We had conversations about what it’s like being a progressive artist nowadays, how to attract an audience on social media, whats in the mindset of the artists at the top, and so much more.

We also hosted @themangoalley artists @mikeisai , @willdekeizer and @sam_scheme for a Q&A with the audience after and they all were amazingly insightful and inspiring.

Thank you to @davidlovas for capturing this on film.

Our next Above Average event is going to be in Brooklyn Oct 8

one of the most beautiful moments from my set two weeks ago was playing an all time favorite classic of mine Cressida - 6AM

I’ve been experimenting with repitching down a lot of faster tracks at a much lower tempo. it changes the characteristics and vibe of a track that may not originally have a place in a warm up set

next stop, @amsterdamdanceevent
let me know if you’re going and would like to meet 🙂

thinking of having a small work shop on warming up/opening sets for upcoming DJs who are curious about the art of warm up

@marianomellino at Balance Croatia 2026 🇭🇷

After playing the Beach Stage on the opening night of the festival last year, Mariano returned for the @skyline_events party this year, taking over the Yard Stage before handing things off to @daveseamandj and @pappa.anthony.

The energy in this crowd was unreal 🙌 by @davidlovas

@dannytenagliaofficial at Balance Croatia 2026 🇭🇷

For many, one of the most anticipated new additions to this year’s lineup was New York and Global Underground legend DT!

Danny leaned into the progressive side of his sound, highlighting his versatility as a DJ while still delivering the signature tribal rhythms and driving kicks that define peak-time Tenaglia.

Playing on the first night of the festival, following @simplycitymusic and just before @djjohndigweed closed out the night at Barbarellas, Danny set a high bar for the week ahead. For many festivalgoers and longtime fans, it was also their first chance to experience Tenaglia live. by @davidlovas

@simplycitymusic kicking off the first Beach Stage party of Balance Croatia 2026 🇭🇷🏖️

Anticipation was high on the opening night of the festival, and Simply City did not disappoint. With clubbers traveling from all corners of the world, including Brazil, Australia, the UK, Argentina and beyond, Simply City gave the crowd a taste of the @stereomontreal sound with a skillfully crafted, energetic opening set before handing things over to @dannytenagliaofficial.

Part 1/2
6 weeks away from home. 20 flights. 8 gigs. ❤️✈️
And to finish it all with @balancecroatia was the perfect way to end the tour. 🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who made it down to the @superprogressive boat cruise. The amount of love I received after that set honestly meant so much. I’ve never experienced that kind of response after a set, and I’m incredibly grateful to every single person I met at the festival, whether it was in person or through social media. ❤️
What a festival 🤯
Hopefully i get to do it all again next year. 👊❤️

WHAT A MOMENT! 🤯🤯🤯

It doesn’t get much better than watching @pappa.anthony and @daveseamandj tearing up The Yard at @balancecroatia on the final night of the festival and they drop our ID mid set.
