TO DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Crazy David’s Port Sydney version To dream the impossible dream Crazy David’s dream? A day at the store with no one asking, “Do you sell…?” Yep, I’m dreaming big. To fight the unbeatable foe I’ve faced the unbeatable foe: a customer who says they’re “just looking” and then asks me to find twelve things. To bear with unbearable sorrow When the coffee runs out before closing time, I take a deep breath and remember: there’s always tomorrow. To run where the brave dare not go I’ll run to the post office as soon as I find my keys and my knees agree to the plan. To right the unrightable wrong If someone puts the coffee filters in the cookie aisle, I’m calling a town meeting. This matter deserves proper attention. To love pure and chaste from afar That’s how I admire the last butter tart when Inna’s nearby and I’m not sure who it belongs to. To try when your arms are too weary Have you ever delivered 50 pizzas to a party? Well, I have! To reach the unreachable star I’m reaching for the top shelf at David’s General Store. Somebody pass me the step stool and maybe a cookie for the journey! by @davidsgeneralstore
