AUKUS will cost $375 billion.

That is a crazy amount of money, if the Government was to pay $1,000,000 every day it would take over 1,000 years to get $375 billion.

Think of all the things that need $1,000,000, your local school, hospital or bus. The government has decided to spend it on nuclear submarines instead. by @davidshoebridge

Last weekend a First Nations woman in custody in Queensland was shackled to a hospital bed as she gave birth prematurely by caesarean. Medical staff tried and failed to have the chains removed. The brutality is cruel and unnecessary.

The same week, the Greens stood with Lidia Thorpe to back her bill banning shackling in childbirth, while Labor and the Coalition blocked it. Their excuse was that it’s a matter for the states, which really means letting the practice continue.

Queensland Corrective Services wants to do an internal review but that’s not good enough. We need a national ban, and we won’t let the major parties keep passing the buck while First Nations women pay the price. by @davidshoebridge

Another week of Labor utterly failing to have anything on the books in Parliament to address cost of living in - so the Greens are putting options on the table!

Coles and Woolies are ripping Aussies off. A publicly owned supermarket chain would bring costs down, and pressure the duopoly to stop profiteering. by @davidshoebridge

We have been clear with the Albanese Labor Government for months now, we are happy to work with them to reduce the private health insurance rebate, but we will not punch down on pensioners to do that.

Rather than targeting pensioners, many struggling to pay their bills and check out their weekly groceries, why won’t this government do the right thing and tax gas exports? by @davidshoebridge

Labor wants to you to think that you’re the problem, not billionaires (shocker). But while corporations are making record profits, paying no tax, and screwing you over, it’s obvious where the real problem lies.

If Labor is serious about tackling inflation, they would crack down on corporate greed & make the 1% pay their fair share. by @davidshoebridge

Parliament has a chance to finally get ahead of big tech with a 12 month ban on smart glasses, and it can pass this week with Labor’s support. Join us to protect people’s privacy, and tag your Labor MP to tell them to back it. by @davidshoebridge

3 years on from the Voice Referendum, it’s never been more important to fight for Truth-Telling, Treaty and justice in this country.

The Yoorrook Justice Commission and Victorian Treaty show what progress looks like. Genuine recognition of sovereignty and rights. Representation and a frame-work for self determination. Community-led pathways to close gaps in health, education, land management, safety and justice.

In the three years since the Voice Referendum, Labor’s leadership on this issue has vanished. No funding for Makarrata, no progress on cultural heritage reforms, approving fossil fuel projects on country, and ignoring international calls for action on youth justice and out of home care. First Nations people continue to experience racism and the legacy of historic injustices every. single. day.

We should be telling the truth about our past, and forging a shared path together nationally. That’s what Treaty, Truth-telling and fighting for justice is about. by @davidshoebridge

What an incredible weekend we had in Sydney!

Across the country, there’s been a groundswell of people joining our movement to demand more than politics as usual and fight for a system that works for all of us - not just the richest 1%.

Why? Because we’re the only party that’s ready to people’s basic everyday needs.

We can make politics better. We can make life cheaper. We can bring back hope.

But we can’t do it without you. by @davidshoebridge

I asked Minister Wong why, while corporations are making record profits, life for everyday Australians is getting harder and harder.

This Labor government wants you to think that the stagnation of real wages is somehow out of their control, while they refuse to tax the big corporations that bankroll their election campaigns.

Labor’s donors profit, while you’re worse off. Is that really just a coincidence? by @davidshoebridge

A digital duty of care is an important measure to make the internet safe. To put in place the rules that keep your wellbeing ahead of Big Tech’s profits.

We’ve already had a win in getting Labor to back down from its extreme ministerial discretion. We’re working hard to get this right. by @davidshoebridge

This is an horrific act of state-sanctioned violence, that no Australian should be exposed to.

The E-Safety Commissioner must use their powers to block America’s live-streamed murder. If this isn’t a red-line for this government, what is? by @davidshoebridge
