As I recently celebrated turning 50, 🥳🎉 I’ve been reflecting on what helps to keep me feeling young and vibrant: ☀️

1. Cherishing and nurturing good relationships – with people who support you, believe in you and nourish you, particularly during life’s inevitable hardships 🌸

2. A gratitude mindset – being thankful for what you have, seeing the positive in situations and keeping a good attitude 🌅

3. A life of service – living in alignment with your purpose and values, walking with love and realising that the greatest joy comes from helping others 💕

4. Protecting your boundaries – learning your limits, what you need to say no to, and what you need to let go of to make space for what truly matters 🕊️

5. A healthy lifestyle – nourishing your body, getting enough movement and rest, while showing yourself the same kindness and compassion as you would others 🌿

6. Watching what you consume – the things you read, watch and listen to, the people around you and the thoughts you give space to – guarding your valuable time and spending it with intention 🌼

7. Seeing challenges and difficulties as opportunities to grow and develop – meeting them with courage, grace and serenity 🌷

8. Listening to that inner voice that guides you towards a life of peace and purpose 🪷

What helps you to feel young and vibrant? 💖

Listening to our body’s cues with intention, non-judgement and compassion can help us build our awareness and connection with ourselves. 🌼

Questions we can ask ourselves include: 🌿

• Am I eating because I’m hungry – or because I’m bored, stressed or simply out of habit?

• Am I running on empty? Do I need to refuel?

• Do I need an earlier night tonight to catch up on sleep?

• Is my current lifestyle supporting my wellbeing – or do I need to change some habits to make it more sustainable?

Save this as a reminder to check in with yourself and listen to what your body needs. 🌸

Cortisol is a natural hormone produced by our adrenal glands.

It plays an important role in metabolism, immune function and our body’s response to stress. 🌼

Cortisol naturally rises and falls throughout the day, but persistently high or unusually low levels can affect our health.

Supporting healthy cortisol regulation can make a big difference to our general sense of wellbeing. 🪷

Save this for later and share it with someone who might find it helpful right now. 💖

Our bodies have a huge capacity for healing and repair when we provide the right conditions. 🌿

We can nourish ourselves through food, water, movement, time in nature, positive relationships, social connections, purpose and a positive mindset. 🌸

We can set boundaries to avoid overwhelm and things that drain our energy.

Learning to listen to our body and give it what it’s asking for – whether that’s rest, movement or nourishment – is key to helping our bodies thrive. 🕊️

We could all do with a healthier stress response sometimes. 🪷

With the nights drawing in fast, reduced daylight can affect our serotonin production and melatonin release – influencing our mood, sleep and energy levels.

So it’s a great time of year to nourish our bodies for a healthier nervous system, and build our resilience to stress and life’s challenges. 🌿

Share this with someone who could do with some extra support. 💕

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate our mood, sleep, appetite and wellbeing. 🪷

Ways to support healthy serotonin function include:

• Getting daylight, particularly in the morning ☀️
• Exercising regularly 🤸‍♀️
• Eating foods rich in tryptophan (an amino acid used to make serotonin), e.g. turkey, eggs and nuts 🥜
• Maintaining a healthy sleep-wake cycle 😴

What do you find helps you regulate your mood most? 🌸

Save this for a reminder of these simple daily habits. 🌿

Research shows long-term meditation is associated with elevated levels of melatonin and serotonin. 🧘

These neurochemicals play important roles in regulating our mood, sleep and behaviour.

Potential benefits of meditation include reduced stress, improved relaxation and better sleep. 🪷
