Big Bend Ultra 50 Miler - January 19, 2025

I added photos from the event to showcase what a beautiful place it is to run. Credit goes to @philsalmeronphoto for the amazing photos. I also included my buddies in some of the shots. 💪🏼

My first 50-miler is officially in the books! There is so much I want to share about this race, the training, and this season of my life. What stands out to me is that during my training and even a few days after the race, I experienced both dark moments and uplifting ones. However, through it all, I had people in my corner.

At times, I felt discouraged when I found myself off course and experienced pain from the physical challenges of the race. There were moments when I thought, “I never want to come back to Big Bend again.” However, now that my body is feeling better and I’m no longer dealing with whatever illness I had, I’m already eager to return and aim to achieve a personal record. This time, I’ll be more familiar with the course, and I hope to be in a happier place in my life.

I had amazing friends who supported me through training and stood by me during the tough times. Although I didn’t meet my goal time, I’m proud to have finished as the second female and tenth overall in my first-ever 50-mile trail race, completing it in 9 hours, 57 minutes, and 7 seconds. 🙏🏼😂😅

Congratulations to my friend @ultra_running_daddy for achieving his big personal record and finishing first overall! He played a crucial role in helping me train and prepare for this race—thank you, Travis! Also, a big shoutout to @annekenicole, a talented young lady trained by the same coach as me, for crushing it and finishing as the first female.

Thank you to @210backyardalchemy for encouraging me to take on this challenge, and to @gigifox8 and @mojo_1071 for being instrumental in my preparation with our long weekend runs. I am truly surrounded by talented runners.

Lastly, a massive thank you to @elevatedmindsetrunning for your outstanding coaching, encouragement, and patience. 😅

SARR Great Greenway Relay - February 2nd, 2025

I had another fun experience with my Mixed Master Wolfpack Team! 🐺 We not only finished first in our division but also came in fourth overall, and we broke the course record that we set last year! 🙌 I've made so many great friends through the Wolfpack running group, and it was wonderful to reconnect with my friends from my other running groups as well, including BTNR, FMCC, and the Rockhoppers. @wolfpackrunningstx #wolfpackrunningtx #sarrgreatgreenwaymarathonrelay taken in San Antonio, Texas by @dawnluvs2_run

The moment I read the phrase, 'stop watering dead plants,' everything started to change. I tend to hold on to things, but while I struggle to let go, I also block myself from receiving the new. Much of my time and energy are wasted on efforts that yield nothing; I realize I cannot bring life to what isn't meant for me. My thoughts and feelings have transformed. I no longer want anything to do with what's not contributing to my growth. Letting go has lifted a significant burden from my shoulders. I am grateful to God for the revelations he’s been revealing to me and for the healing taking place. by @dawnluvs2_run
