If you've been here a while — welcome back to the rebuild.
If you're new — welcome in.

A lot has shifted in the last few months. I went deep before going forward — not deeper into striving, but deeper into the places where I'd stopped receiving. I came back ready to share what I learned.

So here's my reintroduction:
I'm Dawn Mann Sanders. Author of When Your World Ends. Bible teacher. Restoration Architectā„¢. Host of Rebuilding Your Life with Dawn Mann Sanders (launching Fall 2026).

I walk with leaders who've lived. Women who've carried, built, led, and loved — and now find themselves in a season harder than expected. Grieving. Rebuilding. Believing for more.

What I teach is God's Creative Processā„¢ — a Genesis-shaped framework that maps how God rebuilds a life. Seven rooms. Faith for the in-between. Tools for the rebuild.
Because what worked before doesn't anymore. The old tools were built for a version of you that's already gone. You've outgrown your survival systems. There's a way forward — and it's not where you left it.

If you don't know where you are in the rebuild yet, the quiz is a good place to start. Link in my bio...

No pressure — just clarity.

How do you move forward when you don’t know what to do?

The morning after Reggie died, my whole prayer was two words: ā€œWhat now?ā€ I didn’t realize then that now speaks to sequence and order. My routine was doing more than organizing my morning. It told me what came next.

In this week’s blog, I share what Genesis 1 showed me about starting over, one stage at a time.

GCP | Inside the Rebuild Ā· Week 2 Ā· The Blueprint

How does God restore order from chaos? Genesis 1 shows Him doing it one stage at a time.

When you can’t see what God is doing yet, that can be frightening, especially when your life already feels out of order.

Genesis 1:2 names the disorder: formless, empty, dark. Then, in verses 3 and 4, the ordered work of creation begins. God speaks, light appears, and He sees that it’s good.

Edict. Execution. Experience. Three stages in two verses. In When Your World Ends, I call this God’s creative framework.

You don’t need every answer to recognize the next faithful move. Say one true sentence about where you are. Take one small step. Notice what was good.

GCP | Inside the Rebuild Ā· Week 2 Ā· Field Notes

When prayer feels hard after loss, it can feel like God has gone quiet.

Before Reggie died, our mornings had an order. He prayed first. Then he woke me, and we prayed together. The morning after he died, he didn’t wake me. The routine that held my mornings together was gone.

I couldn’t see what God was doing. Back then, I thought that meant He wasn’t doing anything.

My rebuilding came slowly, in stages. Genesis 1 unfolds in stages, too.

If your routine fell apart and you don’t know where to start, begin by naming where you are. Comment QUIZ, and I’ll send you the 3-minute quiz to find your Room.

GCP | Inside the Rebuild Ā· Week 1 Ā· Go Deeper

When the life you knew no longer works, it’s easy to read ā€œstuckā€ as a verdict.

Genesis has language for that kind of season. Before God created anything, Scripture describes the earth with three Hebrew words: tohu, bohu, and khoshek.

This week’s blog walks through all three, what they can look like in your life, and why they may be signs it’s just the beginning.

GCP | Inside the Rebuild Ā· Week 1 Ā· The Blueprint

When the plan falls apart, most of us think we have a planning problem. So we rush to figure out what's next.

Genesis starts somewhere else. Before the ordered work of creation unfolds, Scripture describes the earth: without form, void, and dark. Tohu, bohu, and khoshek.

In When Your World Ends, I call those unproductive, empty, and dark moments signs it's just the beginning.

Which one do you recognize in your season? Maybe all three.

GCP | Inside the Rebuild Ā· Week 1 Ā· Field Notes

I sat on a cold vinyl chair in an emergency room waiting room, holding Mama’s phone. She was behind closed doors where I couldn’t advocate for her, and every plan I had for the week dissolved in seconds.

I have been in this place before.

When Reggie died years ago, the life we planned came to an abrupt stop. The early days felt completely unproductive, empty, and dark.

You feel disoriented because the familiar routine disappeared, but that blank space is where God begins His creative work. Living fully alive has always meant making room for seasons like this, letting God meet you in what you can’t fix. It means walking with Him through the raw, quiet spaces where He lays the new foundation.

That unformed space is where God’s Creative Process (GCP) begins.

If you’re walking through an unplanned disruption right now, where are you in GCP today? Comment "quiz," and I’ll send you the link to find out. by @dawnmannsanders

On September 17, 2024, @ivpress published When Your World Ends: God's Creative Process for Rebuilding a Life.

People assume that once you've written the book on rebuilding, you've graduated from it. That you've arrived somewhere steady, and the lessons sit behind you like a closed chapter.

I haven't graduated from anything.

Well, my 98-year-old mother fell and broke her pelvis. The days after that were hospital rooms, doctors’ rounds, physical therapy updates, and holding Mama's hand while she rested. My plans for this season disappeared overnight.

And the framework God gave me to write? I wasn't referencing it from a bookshelf. I was living inside it again, from a chair next to her bed.

Rebuilding isn't linear. It's cyclical. You don't move past it into some finished version of yourself. You move back through it with everything you carried the last time, plus whatever this new season just handed you.

I wrote this book for the woman whose world had just fallen apart. I didn't know God was also making sure I'd have the words for myself, sitting in a rehab facility two years later, watching my mother learn to walk again.

Mama's home now. We're taking it one step at a time.

If you find yourself in the middle of an unplanned rebuild, When Your World Ends is there to walk with you through it. Comment BOOK to get the link, so you can grab your copy.

In Genesis, before God fills the earth with life or purpose, He forms the containers. He separated light from darkness, set boundaries between waters and sky, and created space before anything ever fills it.

When our world falls apart, our immediate instinct is to rush in and fill the empty spaces with new plans, quick answers, instant clarity, and unfamiliar people. Sitting in an unfinished framework feels uncomfortable, so we try to skip straight to the filling.

But when you don't understand where you are in God's creative process, rebuilding feels chaotic. You think you're falling behind when you may simply be doing the work this part of the process requires. You can mistake clearing for delay because you can't see yet what the cleared space will hold.

If you're in a season of rebuilding, I created the God's Creative Processā„¢ Quiz to help you identify which room you're walking through right now.

On Sept 9, two days after my last post about stepping into this new decade, my 98-year-old mother fell and broke her pelvis.

After nearly three weeks between the hospital and rehab, Mama is officially back home in her bedroom.

The first picture is Mama and me in her hospital room, and the second is us back home. Both of us are still smiling.

Your whole day narrows down quickly to doctor rounds, physical therapy updates, and holding Mama's hand while she rests.

Presence matters far more than performance in seasons like this. Walking with God takes shape right beside her bed, taking things one hour at a time. He stays close in the middle of unplanned caregiving shifts, steadying us when the routine falls completely apart.

We're taking things one step at a time as Mama continues to heal.

If you're carrying an unexpected weight or walking through a sudden disruption right now, how can I pray for you today? by @dawnmannsanders

I’m Fully Alive.

I’m a bit late šŸ˜…, but wanted to celebrate my friend @dawnmannsanders ā€˜s 60th Birthday šŸŽ‰ by honoring this really thoughtful request…

Instead of a gathering or giving gifts, Dawn invited us to reflect on times we’ve felt fully alive + post an unpolished, real life moment of gratitude.

This simple prompt reminded m.e. that life is to be celebrated. Every breath has meaning, each step makes a difference + restful movement does more for the mind and body than we often give it credit. ā˜ŗļøšŸ‚ In this picture, I’m enjoying a brisk afternoon walk in this gorgeous *almost* fall weather, while zoning out to a novel on Audible šŸ“–šŸŽ§.

When do you feel fully alive? Tagging six people. Your turn. šŸ«¶šŸ¾
