It was my good friend Paul currie’s 50th on Friday and he had a track day party for it, which while i initially thought was in march i managed to make it for jan the car since i last took it out had some repairs from a fire, new supashock coliovers, refined power steering system (thanks to the fire), got a return parrellel fuel system (which also ment i needed a new air intake to make it fit, shout out to Lewy @ solid mechanical) and a bonnet vent

When i unloaded my car straight up issues my dash buttons werent working so i had no idea on any vitals but a quick remap of my dash and i was back in business.

The car felt horribly slow and my dash was showing 1 psi of boost so after a few slow laps for familiaristion i pitted and low and behold, id popped an intake pipe fixed that up and got ready for the next session and i was away.

Straight away i had boost, the car moved much quicker, this was living barry. I continued to push all day and eventually ended up with what i feel is respectable time of 1:38.4 going by the motec considering i had been out of of the seat for over a year.

One of the greatest wins for me was coolant temp which has been something Ive fought pretty much since owning the car was now sitting at a solid 85°C the whole day pushing for a full session with the track temp of 56°C a huge win to me. Intercooler temps still need a bit of tweaking but again am well on the way to getting that sorted.

I haven’t had this much fun in a very very long time and although ive crashed out today after coming off nights and then 4 big days to prep car drive to Winton and back, i think ive found some motivation and maybe ill finally make the grid this year for some door to door racing in sa sport sedans, entry for @tsukiyo_time_attack_sa is also looking promissing

Thanks for all the birthday messages and what not My day was full of trash sleep but work was ok last night and hopefully work tonight work will also be ok. Less then 6months ago I didn’t expect to be earth side for this birthday and now I feel like I’m progressing in my career finally and learning so much every day which is amazingly overwhelming but also satisfying at the same time. Life’s weird. Age is weird. Even though I’m having a steak for dinner tonight I’m super keen to go home and have a good steak and play race cars. Let’s see what mayhem the next 12 months brings. Plot twist, not going to Canada. Staying in Australia and got a leading hand gig!!
I’m so stoked to have been given this opportunity and the challenges that will come with it, I couldn’t have done this with out the support of some close friend and family that believed in my when I often didn’t myself.

*EDIT*
This does mean that I have had to withdraw my MAFS application for 2025 which let’s be honest I’m more interested in work then anything relationship related anyway😂

Pretty excited to be going to WA to work on some big stuff been wanting to check WA mining for ages! Flying with tools is a new experience,I missed the no flying with batteries memo so my awesomely wrapped bags were no longer awesomely wrapped.

GOOD THINGS! Seeing Korn play was pretty freaking rad. For a band that’s been around for 30 years they nailed it. I had such a good day although it rained for part of it. Gig partner in crime @jaxxschwarcz saved the day with a poncho. The rest of the time I slept A LOT more than usual, drank a lot of over price coke ($8 a glass. I thought soft drink was supposed to be cheaper then alcohol), went to the Gym and caught up with a few pals. Wish I went to Brisbane to see korn again really.

Oh shout out to crown casino for A. Giving this weekend a financial offset. And B. Showing Qualifying and the last F1 race of the year on the big screen. I had less then 2 hours sleep between getting home from watching the F1 and getting up for my flight home. 😴😴
