The way nature or even humans leave things behind is sometimes really mesmerizing. The way sunlight strikes fallen leaves or how scattered flowers lie on a tiled floor- it all feels like little moments of beauty waiting to be noticed.

I love looking at these details, the way people leave things behind and how nature beautifies nature itself. It’s in these unnoticed moments that I find something special, something that deserves to be seen.

Maybe that’s what makes us all different- the things we notice, the way we see the world, and how we find pieces of ourselves in the smallest details around us.

Favourite picture so far from Fort Kochi beach.

The connection between the two pictures pointed out by @indrajitkhambe sir is surreal.

Today is National Handloom Day, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky I am to even be aware of the significance of this craft. I’m sure so many of us don’t even know that a day like this exists, let alone the incredible heritage it celebrates.

A lot of what I’ve come to know about handloom has been through the work we do at LD. While our world has mostly revolved around hand block prints, we’ve had the privilege of working with master artisans from Balaramapuram for our Kaithari sarees, and with artisans in Maheshwar for Maheshwari silks. Seeing their work up close- the skill, patience and knowledge behind every weave- has made me appreciate handloom so much more. And it’s something we’re hoping to explore more of in the years to come.

But today, more than anything, I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the art, the craft and the incredible skill that exists all around us.

India is truly a treasure trove of handmade crafts, and it makes me so happy to see more people valuing and cherishing them. I hope that number only keeps growing.

Happy National Handloom Day. 🤍 by @daypasand
