POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just realized I haven’t updated on books lately. Here’s what I read in September and October so far. Some I read hard copy and some I listened to the audiobook, and I don’t think it really matters either way because what I’m after is the story and the words! I’m currently in four book clubs (‼️) and really happy about that development. If you want to talk about any of these let me know! Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, Spy x Family by Tatsuya Endo, Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen, The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Guest List by Lucy Foley, The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Fleishman is in Trouble by Taffy Brodesser-Akner. Happy Reading!!!! 💗 📚 💗 by @daytimemooncreativity

I’ve been pondering the idea of starting a mail club for 2027 so when my neighbor @topfloorpod announced she was launching a travel-themed mail club @topfloormailclub I thought it was a golden opportunity to do some “research” annnnnnnd actually, I just really like getting mail and it looked so fun! We are now 3 months deep and it’s been a great adventure with an envelope full of surprises each month!! Who doesn’t love mail that’s curated and artfully put together?!? I’ve really enjoyed the creativity each month, and while my mail club will be totally different, this one has gotten me energized with creative ideas!!

Earlier this year, in an attempt to clear out a ton of old stationary, I put out a call for anyone who wanted to receive mail. I ended up writing to 32 people!! It was so much fun. I love mail (except for junk mail and bills 😂). I like the idea of sending some love and enthusiasm out into the world. And I love imagining people opening their mailbox and receiving something put together by another human. It’s all so tactile and connecting!

@topfloormailclub thanks for sharing your creativity!! by @daytimemooncreativity

I took a zine workshop taught by @feliciaegail at @modatl this summer. It was so cool to hear Felicia’s extensive knowledge of zines, and she had amazing examples that she shared with us. I really enjoyed making my zine at the workshop, and MODA kindly made photocopies for us so we could leave with a set of 4. I couldn’t quite finish composing the words while I was there though, and I wanted to add some color to the photocopies so I brought them home to finish. Here’s the final result.

I have two extra copies. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to mail one to you! Just let me know in the comments that you’re interested in receiving a copy.

Thanks for teaching such an inspiring workshop, Felicia + MODA! 💗 by @daytimemooncreativity

There was a packed house to see @tayari Jones at @decaturbookfestival this afternoon! I’ve read three of her books, but I hadn’t ever heard her speak until today. And oh my goodness! She was sooooo funny. I expected her to be charming and intelligent (and I was correct, of course!) but I did not anticipate LOL’ing! Her books deal with such serious issues, I just didn’t see it coming 😂 For real though, I felt super inspired and felt extra-something because she’s an Atlanta native. Added bonus: I got to see two of my @agnesscottcollege classmates! 💜 I got very overheated this afternoon (what up humidity?!?) and almost canceled this plan. I’m so glad I didn’t. It was perfect. 📚 by @daytimemooncreativity

I think I failed to mention that I started the week with an exciting book signing hosted by @acappellabooks at @thegardenclubwildheaven . First, I should say thank you to @dotlove for telling me about this event and for taking the 2nd photo. Second, I was so excited to run into @m.kemper.westbrook and Charles (it’s so weird when you see someone every day for many years and then life changes and you hardly see them… but then fate brings you together in a totally different neighborhood from where you both live!!).

I got to meet Emily St. John Mandel and hear her talk about her new book Exit Party AND her writing process! It was so great!!! I’ve read three of her books and am quite obsessed. I can’t wait to read this new book (definitely bumping it up to the top of my TBR). Now go read Station Eleven, The Glass Hotel and Sea of Tranquility. Fingers crossed I get to meet @tayari on Saturday at @decaturbookfestival and then this will be a most epic week! 🤞🏼 (let’s be honest, it’s already very epic!! Just hoping it will be double epic!) by @daytimemooncreativity

Welcome to October!! It might be my favorite month with cooling temperatures and Halloween 👻 and just a general feeling of excitement in the air. Enjoy a mini mix of 10 songs, a soundtrack for the month. 🔗 in bio. by @daytimemooncreativity
