Hellooo everyone!!

I think I’m finally experiencing the side effects of pushing myself too hard.
So I decided to upload this unfinished doodle while telling my story 🙏🏻 I’ll be really happy if you take a moment to read it🙏🏻

✍🏻 Before I started drawing Sky doodles as a hobby, I was in the middle of changing my illustration style — from “anime style” into something I truly wanted (there was a reason behind this).

I started playing Sky, and draw Sky illustrations that weren’t anime style.
Eventually, I developed my own Sky doodle style — and I kept drawing that way for about 3 years.

☀️ But then I had to think about my future. I wanted to become an illustrator.
So I tried to apply my Sky doodle style into my original illustrations… but it didn’t work.
I panicked, trying to find a new drawing style as soon as possible.

And then I COMPLETELY lost myself.
I forgot my drawing style.
I forgot how I used to draw.
I forgot how to enjoy drawing.
It felt like I had drawing amnesia. 😭

Jobless period + thinking about income + searching for art style + deciding my illustration career in a hurry + trying a new device (iPad)… everything killed me.

I kept searching for my style — and I FINALLY found it.
Took me around 1.5 years: a combination of Wacom (Clip Studio Paint) and iPad (Procreate).

BUT!! Just when I finally found it, I collapsed.
My body has REFUSED to draw ever since, even though the ideas in my head never stop.
It feels like reaching the finish line… only to fall right after crossing it.

That’s the “side effect” I’m dealing with now.

I tried to finish this doodle, but my body still refused to move.
I was so excited when I started it, but even after the whole Season ended, I still couldn’t continue.

And this is not the 1st experience....
I have SO MANY FUNNY SKY DOODLES I WANT TO FINISH (all drafted and sketched!).
My mind is excited, but my body isn’t.
I kept asking myself:

“What’s wrong with me?”
“Why now, right when I finally found my style?”

And then I realized — I can only draw again if my life feels balanced too (financially, emotionally).
So for now, what I want to invest in first is my happiness.

Thanks for read!! by @de.skay
