Rolled With Me, Episode 4 🎙️

For this week's episode I am joined by my dad @mehrzadgolchin . The man who has been there with me the entire time. Every sport I've tried, every class, every comp, every success and every failure he has been there. Always encouraging me to redefine what's possible. None of this would exist without him. He was also a little nervous about doing this because of his English so show him some love 💙.

My goal with this series is simple:
to show different perspectives, challenge assumptions, and hopefully encourage more people with disabilities to step outside their comfort zone, on and off the mats 🥋👊🏻.

Since there are a lot of new faces here, I thought I should reintroduce myself👋🏻.

My journey started with cerebral palsy, but it didn’t stop there, it became the reason I chose to push myself in sport, education, and life.

Today I compete in Para Jiu-Jitsu, train consistently in the gym, and share my adaptations to show that progress is always possible 🥋.

This page exists to be the example I didn’t have growing up. Proof that limitations don’t define your potential.

@jakeausten_ said just cook, so that's what I did. Almost got a takedown against the ever ready @squiggles.bjj and pulled off the uno reversal from bottom to get on top and get the W.

I also managed to block the hip to stop myself getting thrown too. The T rex 🦖 arms coming in clutch for real 😎🫡. Thank you to the boys and my dad for cheering me on. The atmosphere was crazy and the excitement in Jake's voice was mad. If anyone asks, I'm the one who got him outta retirement to win 🥇🥇😂.

I proved yesterday that whatever bracket you put me in, even if I go in against the odds, I can scrap, compete and win. Still things to work on but I'll continue to get better. I'll be coming for more shocks and if you can stand, I'm coming for you 🫵🏻. Trust me on that 🫡🔥.

Somehow managed to get ill back to back. Haven't been able to train in a little while, the timing arguably couldn't be worse as I was feeling great in the lead up to the ADCC British Open on the 24th. It is what it is though, these things happen. At the moment my only priority is recovering so that I can actually compete. Getting there slowly 🫡💙.
