There's a part of us which still does crave to be the child we once were, again.

That afternoon these two cubs took me back to those days again, when happiness shaped our days and fun ruled our life.

Every time I feel impatient, every time I feel the helplessness of not getting something I badly want, I just look back at this image.
This face alone defines and exemplifies the word "Patience" in my life. It took me two years, numerous failed attempts, uncountable heartbreaks and finally a relentless effort of 10 continuous hours in the scorching sun to finally tick the box. Boy you are special.

In frame - T164 male

Bandhavgarh has always had a special place deep down my heart. To kickstart a season with Bandhavgarh was long due on my wishlist and finally it happened. It was really special to see some familiar faces with stripes and grace, after the break❣️

To be back in the woods and to feel that my eyes and ears are still responding properly to the small gestures of the forests was definitely a booster to my confidence that was getting the same lazy like me over the last three months😅

@rune0207 Sir, Thank you so much for your faith and your valuable suggestions which made the trip even more special 😊 . I will be waiting to see you soon again with the tigers and lots of laughter 😊

@manish_bandhavgarh @a_man__in_wild It always feels special to reunite with the band. Thank you so much folks❣️

@aranyakresort @ram_sharmaaa Thank you for everything you did to make the start of the season so special 😄

This was not just the start to my season, it is a start to a journey which is still young and fresh like the Post Monsoon forests, holding lots of adventures and happy memories ahead to cherish forever. Being able to start the work like I have dreamt of doing really makes me glad today. The warm-up feels good, the mood feels uplifted, the spirit feels high. 2026-2027, lets rock & roll 😎

Last but not the least - Prasun da, I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity. All my love for you brother 😊 by @debarpan_datta

On the final day of Wildlife Week 2026, remembering the theme - “Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife,” how can we not mention tigers!!!

Every tiger carries a certain bloodline, and every bloodline has its right for a bright future. Gradually young tigers must disperse, find new territories and establish themselves. But when forests become isolated islands, that journey often becomes a conflict—between individuals fighting for territory, and increasingly, between wildlife and people.

This is why corridors are not mere strips of an extended forest; they are lifelines. With the increasing numbers of tigers in India, connected habitats give that dispersal a chance to happen naturally—before necessity turns into conflict.

A thriving population is wonderful news. But conservation doesn't end when the numbers go up; the real success is having enough connected wilderness for those numbers to live, move and thrive.
Because when wildlife needs more room, the answer isn't to tell them to stay put—it's to make sure the wild still has somewhere to go. And that, quite literally, is giving wildlife room to grow! 🐅

The Ghosts Whom Boundaries Cannot Confine.

Ft. The Asiatic Leopard.

Remembering the theme of the National Wildlife Week 2026: “Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife", it is impossible to forget the Leopards who are like a ghost of the forest; forever present yet appears in fleeting glimpses before silently melting back into the landscape.”

Their importance becomes even greater across landscape barriers—roads, farms, settlements, semi urban fringes and fragmented forests. Leopards need connected habitats and safe movement corridors to access food, mates and shelter. Maintaining such connectivity therefore supports not only leopards, but the wider network of species that share these landscapes.

Human awareness is instrumental to leopard conservation because they often overlap with people's everyday lives. That is where conservation beyond protected-area boundaries, involvement of local communities, responsible land-use planning and safe wildlife corridors play the most vital role behind their sustenance.

Often misunderstood as a peril, the leopard is instead a vital and elusive part of the landscape we share. Changing fear into understanding—and coexistence into conscious action—is the key for the rosettes to thrive.

Riots of Colours; Ft. The National Bird.

The theme of the National Wildlife Week 2026, says - “Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife.”

The Indian Peafowls are one brightest example of wildlife is not only confined within isolated protected areas. They thrive in a remarkably diverse range of habitats—from deciduous forests, scrublands and woodland edges to agricultural landscapes, villages and urban institutional campuses. They demonstrate how wildlife adapts and persists across a mosaic of natural and human-dominated landscapes when the habitat is not essentially threatening their existence, allowing them the basic space.

Their presence across diverse Indian landscapes gives a powerful reminder that conserving wildlife means conserving the entire living landscape—forests, grasslands, wetlands, farms, villages and the ecological links between them. Protecting and connecting these habitats are essential for ensuring that India’s wildlife continues to thrive in a peaceful coexistence with the human population of the country.
