An awe-inspiring multisensory experience combining natural materials, handcrafted objects, moving image and sound to bring the extraordinary journey of natural diamonds to life...

De Beers is delighted to return to Frieze Masters in London this week for a second year with 'Voyage Through the Diamond Realm, Chapter II: On the Birth of A Diamond'.

The immersive installation explores the remarkable story of diamonds, from the formation of carbon in the earliest stars to their creation deep within the Earth, before revealing how human creativity transforms them into objects of meaning and beauty.

Developed in collaboration with Paris-based Shifron Mercury Studio, Gaborone-based Mabeo Studio, and a collective of creatives spanning craft, performance, music and poetry, 'On the Birth of A Diamond' builds on the global success of the first edition of 'Voyage Through the Diamond Realm', an installation that travelled from London to Mumbai and New York, exploring the myths, legends and stories inspired by natural diamonds.

Through this latest chapter, we continue to connect culturally curious audiences with the wonder, uniqueness and enduring value of natural diamonds.

Meet Naledi 🦏 — this World Environment Day, we're proud to share her story.

Naledi is a reminder of what becomes possible when our long-term commitment meets conservation.
The Debswana's breeding programme began in 2012 and today, we celebrate:

- 70 rhino calf births

- The return of the rhinocerous seed population to their natural habitats

- 30+ rhinos successfully rewilded across Southern Africa

We are overjoyed that Naledi is not alone — and through years of collective restoration efforts by De Beers and the Government of Botswana, a species vital to African ecosystems is finding its footing again.

Young storytellers in Botswana’s Okavango Delta are gifted with stories of their heritage, passed down through generations by elders in their communities. This International Day of Biological Diversity, we’re reminded that protecting places like the Okavango Delta is not only about conserving the diverse ecosystems surrounding it, but also preserving the cultures, stories and connections that have existed alongside it for generations.

Through the Okavango Eternal partnership, @debeersgroup and @natgeo are helping communities build creative skills and opportunities to preserve, celebrate, and shape the narrative of the Delta — through the eyes of those who call it home.

The experience traces diamonds from their genesis as stardust forged in the hearts of ancient stars, through aeons, to their quiet revelation in riverbeds and desert landscapes.

We were honored to share voices from across Southern Africa: Lucky Biki Maabong guiding us through ancestral stories, Oule Seitsang's love songs, and the ancient art of ostrich eggshell beads.

Voyage Through the Diamond Realm is an immersive journey through natural diamonds, from their formation deep within the Earth millions of years ago to the myths they inspired.

This May, De Beers partners with Frieze New York for the American debut of Voyage Through the Diamond Realm, revealing the living heritage of diamonds through immersive visual storytelling, scenography and soundscapes. Audiences are invited to encounter the cosmic and earthly journeys held within each one.
