Meet the makers behind the magic. šŸ–¤

Nocturne is the creation of Event Society, an Australian creative event production house specialising in immersive, theatrical experiences designed to make people feel something.

For years, we’ve been creating extraordinary worlds for brands, governments, communities and private clients across Australia.

Now, we’re creating one of our own.

Every detail of Nocturne. The story. The atmosphere. The entertainment. The styling. The food. The rituals. The moments you won’t see coming. All imagined and produced by the Event Society team.

This is what we do.

Only this time, you’re on the guest list.

Meet the Mistress of Mysteries & Weaver of Wonders! (Yeah…it’s me… but let’s pretend it’s a third person writing this so it’s not awkward…)

For more than a decade, Decinda has designed and produced large-scale events across Australia, creating everything from charity galas and community festivals to corporate conferences and theatrical experiences.

30 Years of Snotface.

I’m not sure why I started calling you snot face. Did we watch Drop Dead Fred together? Or were you a particularly boogerish baby? The real reasons are lost to the sands of time, but either way, you have always been and will always be, a snotface.

I’ve loved you every day of your life. Baby Snotface was an OBSESSION. I was 16, you were the first baby. I used to climb into your cot and nap with you in your red Winnie the Poo room.

As a toddler at church, I followed you around everywhere. My favourite memory was you with home made antennas and cardboard wings letting me know ā€œI just being a bug Arrr Cinna!ā€

Then you were a teen, and I dressed you up and did your makeup and although I can’t remember individual adventures, I’m sure there were many.

The real fun was when you came back from Scotland after you turned 18 and I accidentally started taking you to East and teaching you all my sick moves.

Our relationship even survived your lesbian haircuts, and I guess that shows how strong our bond really is.

You’ve always been crazy talented, and I’ve always been your (self-professed) biggest fan. I say you’re ā€˜gifted’ because that’s the truth of it. You started writing so profoundly, so young, your wisdom and creativity couldn’t have been learnt.

You’re a beautiful mummy to that baby and anyone around you can see you are raising her as a fiercely independent girl and the world needs more of that.

I think this is about the time I’m supposed to say some super wise life-advice, and trying to think what would have helped me when I was 30. Probably nothing, because I already knew it all (just ask me).

So I’ll give you the thing that I think transcends time and milestone birthdays: BACK YOURSELF. Always and without question, follow your heart. It will never steer you wrong and only lead you to the lessons you have to learn. No one else has got you like you have. Be brave bro and shine that light.

Ok? Ok. Auntie Cindas out. by @decinda.jane

I’m putting it all on the line and bringing a passion project to life, by creating the Gold Coast’s first fantasy ball (pretty sure… correct me if I’m wrong)

This is all my dreams, all my imagination, everything I have done up to this point had led me to this one event.

Yesterday we shot sone promo with an incredible team, and knowing that the event is going to be even better than THIS has me giddy.

Come behind the scenes to see the magic.

And if you love this - get your tickets to NOCTURNE - TALES FROM THE MOONLIT COURT

Ticket link in my bio or search NOCTURNE on Eventbrite. Or visit our STUNNING website nocturneball.com, or follow the journey @the.nocturne.ball. Or whatever. I’m cool. It’s cool.

So much love and gratitude to our creative team:

This one feels personal. ā¤ļø

I’m incredibly proud to share that Event Society has been named a finalist in the Event Services category at the 2026 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards, and I’ve also been named a finalist for Influential Woman.

The second one, in particular, means a lot to me.

I don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers. I don’t have a huge platform. But I’ve never believed influence is measured by the size of your audience.

I think it’s measured by what you do with the space you do occupy.

I’ve always tried to be a woman who champions other women. Who shares what I’ve learned. Who celebrates other women’s success rather than feeling threatened by it. Who leads with kindness, but isn’t afraid to have the hard conversations.

And within Event Society, I’ve worked hard to create the kind of workplace I believe women deserve, particularly working mothers. A workplace where being brilliant at your job and being present for your family don’t have to compete with each other. Where flexibility, understanding and humanity aren’t perks; they’re simply part of how we work.

I’m still building. Still learning. And hopefully, still becoming more influential.

But if influence means leaving the people around you a little more supported, confident and capable than you found them, then yes, I’m really proud to call myself an influential woman.

And to have both myself and Event Society recognised nationally feels pretty bloody special. ā¤ļøšŸ†
