Hi friends. 🤍🌿✨ I created something very personal for you called Keep Moving: 10 Ways to Get Unstuck and Move Forward.

This very encouraging and beautiful 96-page digital guide grew from a time very recently in my life when grief, health challenges, exhaustion, and the pressure of running my business made me feel disconnected from myself and my creativity.

Inside, I share the gentle practices that helped me find my way back along with learning to trust my inner wisdom again.

If you’re feeling tired, scattered, creatively blocked, or unsure about what comes next, I hope KEEP MOVING feels like a loving hand on your back, reminding you that you haven’t lost yourself… you may simply need some quiet space to hear your own voice again.

🌸Available now as an instant digital download

The link is:

It’s $19 USD. I hope that you really love it. 🤍🌿

Today in my studio, I started working on my new project for a couple relocating to Hannover from Canada. This is my color direction. I love this English Georgian color palette! I will spend the rest of my day visiting showrooms to begin sourcing furniture. I love working with expats who relocate to Hannover and the surrounding area - dream job! by @decor8

Dietlind Wolf’s @dietlindwolf analog approach to creativity feels more relevant than ever. I’ve admired her work for more than a decade, and I’m fascinated by the way she works with her hands, collects fragments, observes materials, goes all in on research, and lets ideas develop slowly.

I wrote a rather long essay that I’ll share with you in a downloadable PDF soon. It’s gorgeous. by @decor8

Look for the simple, beautiful things. Even at Netto at 8am after the school run. ✨

This morning, it was these Mirabellen that stopped me… all those subtle variations of cream, butter yellow, apricot and blush. No two exactly alike. Nothing perfectly uniform, but together - beautiful.

The more you notice, the more you train your eye, and then finding beauty in the most ordinary places becomes easier and more frequent. You don’t have to wait for the museum, the beautiful hotel, the perfectly styled room or the trip to Paris. JOY is simply slowing down long enough to really see what’s already around you.

Beauty isn’t hard to find - focus and attention area. Slow down a bit. What catches your eye and makes you feel good today?

[And to the people who gave me serious side eye as I was hunched over these fruits with my iPhone taking a photo, YES I am crazy. And proud of it!] by @decor8

Ohhhh….The unglamorous side of running an interior design studio alone - and honestly, I love every bit of it…

The befores, the messy middles, the sourcing, measuring, samples, floor plans, WhatsApps and Zoom calls, site visits, problem solving - and finally, the after. It’s ALL fun to me.

I’m working on several projects at the moment, including a client’s home in Greece, and I’m reminded again how much I love this work… and how easily we can work together these days, whether in person or via Zoom + WhatsApp.

And a little reminder: I’m available for hire! I’m not a snobby designer who only works with huge homes and huge budgets. I’m a democratic designer 💗 I believe everyone deserves a home that feels good, whether you need help with one room, your whole home, or simply a few hours to get unstuck.

The messy middle is actually one of my favorite places to be. DM me for design help and we can set up a call!

I felt like being creative this weekend and decided to try painting some simple decorative and utilitarian items - and flowers - on brown kraft paper with white acrylic paint.

Then I imagined drawing on them after they dried, using a black sharpie.

I painted a bunch of different objects and then used my sharpie and viola!

I’ll bring some to @flowmarkt.hannover to display on a wall in a little installation I’ll create there to bring a charming vibe to the 250m2 space that I’ve been given to create a HOME&LIVING section.

And the sellers I have: AWESOME

The fashion part of FLOWmarkt has 100+ sellers, we have 16 sellers (including me) so we’re the small fish ready to still make a splash! The idea for me is to “test” the concept of having a home section at FLOWmarkt and see if Hannover is ready for interiors stuff being introduced in this curated way there…

I feel honestly that the answer is YES Hannover is ready because the ladies shopping the fashion side of the market already have style and creativity with their wardrobe so why wouldn’t they have this (or want to learn to introduce it) to their home? It’s pretty natural to want to carry your personal style over to your rooms at home these days as well, with good design being so super accessible. And our section, called „hauserlesen“, is meant to make beautiful things even more accessible since all of us in this section are bringing together our favorite things from our homes and beyond to share with everyone at great prices.

You can even ask sellers for tips and ideas on how to use the things that you purchase at home. We‘ll have artists with their work, vintage sellers, a flower stand with fresh flowers so you can grab a bunch on your way home, a plant stand, a community space and workshop area, a matcha and cappuccino bar, sellers with ceramics, handmade candles, new home items from a few small local shops that are bringing sale items, handmade linens, and so much more.

We can’t wait to welcome you to hauserlesen! Visit us at FLOWmarkt on Sunday, September 27 between 10-18h at the @alte_druckerei_hannover in Hannover.

In the meantime, I am planning what to bring for you - I can’t wait to share! by @decor8

Last night I attended the opening of Trauer und Trost at Handwerksform Hannover @handwerksform an exhibition exploring death, loss, grief, remembrance and consolation…and the very personal ways we find to say goodbye, remember, and continue living.

This subject is deeply personal for me.

I lost both of my parents only two years apart… my father in 2019 and my mother in 2021.

Losing them changed the way I think about death, but also about memory. When someone is no longer physically here, we begin finding them elsewhere, in photographs, objects, handwriting, music, stories, little rituals and the things they left behind.

This is part of what made Trauer und Trost so moving for me.

Through the work of many wonderful artists and craftspeople, the exhibition explores how objects, materials, color and rituals can give form to feelings that are often so difficult to express.

One portrait in particular stopped me of Gisèle Pelicot. @gisele_pelicot

Because she is alive - how does she fit into this theme?

Her presence reminded me of something HUGE - that grief isn’t only connected to death.

There are losses we experience while living, things we survive and parts of our lives that change forever. And there can also be extraordinary dignity and courage in continuing forward.

A huge BRAVO to exhibition designer Claus Dorsch @clausdorsch who created such a sensitive and atmospheric setting for these works. Even the beautiful hand lettering throughout the exhibition was created by Claus - a wonderfully human detail that I loved which fit this theme perfectly.

And to his colleague Silke Hinze, and all of the talented artists, craftspeople and creatives involved: thank you for approaching such a difficult subject with so much sensitivity, openness and humanity.

Since losing my parents, I’ve learned that grief doesn’t really end. We don’t “get over” the people we love and have lost. We just learn to carry on and find ways to keep them alive in different ways.

Talking about death doesn’t make life darker or heavier. It reminds us how precious it is to be here.

Trauer und Trost will stay with me for a long time.

The exhibition runs to October 4, 2026. by @decor8

Right now, I’m preparing for an interview next Friday with my friend, visual artist, and author, @dietlindwolf

I’ll be sharing a written interview about her beautiful new book on my Substack, along with photographs I’ve taken of her newest work. That will go live next week.

But inside THE EYE, I’ll be sharing something even more special: an exclusive video conversation I’m filming with Dietlind next Friday, where we’ll talk about creativity, making, inspiration, and the artistic life.

If you’ve been craving a creative boost, need a little spark ⚡️, or simply want to spend time with a thoughtful community of like-minded women walking a similar path, I’d love to welcome you into THE EYE. It is there that you’ll have access to the video and to my video last month with NYC prop stylist and author @robinzachary

Until July 26, I’m offering 20% off both my annual Substack subscription and THE EYE as part of my once-a-year summer sale. July has always been my quietest business month, so your support truly means the world to me. Thank you for supporting my work while also investing in yourself. ✨🤍✨

Here’s my next big project that I promised to share! But first, a shout out…. I absolutely respect and appreciate you Stefanie and everything you have created with FLOWmarkt @flowmarkt.hannover - I’m impressed by your ability to bring people together and how effortless you make it all seem (Even though I know you are busy 24/7). YOU Steffi are a blessing to Hannover - I really mean it - you have a heart of gold to organize these nice events just for the sake of giving all of us a space to gather, share our business or our things to sell, and just BE together 💛.

For the next FLOWmarkt on September 27, I’m creating a special HOME + LIVING section together with 15 of my wonderfully creative friends whom I’ve personally invited. We’ll fill it with interiors, art, ceramics, textiles, flowers, plants, vintage pieces, and so many beautiful things for the home - old, new and new-to-you! We’ll even have 30-60 min workshops - so come create with us, too! NO BAD MOODS only happiness and good energy at FLOWmarkt. You also can’t miss @paolo_hnvr and his coffee/ matcha bar in our Home&Living area.

Today, Stefanie and I were at the Alte Druckerei @alte_druckerei_hannover with their wonderful project manager Jana, dreaming up everything and imagining how it will all come together in this incredible space.

I’m so excited 😆 to work on this project and I truly can’t wait to see it all come to life. Save the date and come be AT THE PLACE TO BE on 27.09! ✨

IN THE COMMENTS I will tag everyone in the Home&Living section so you see our awesome 👏🏻 group.

I needed some SUMMER color on my Instagram and I love flowers so here you go. I shot this photo 6 years ago for @livingathome_magazin for my column.

I deaigned the vases with vegan leather for @depot_online

Lovely looking back and seeing all I’ve done the last 20 years - what I’m doing now - and looking forward to what’s coming! ✨🌿🩷🌸

TIP: tie slim ribbons on some of your flowers in a vase like I did here - simple but unique and a nice way to add some charm for a little birthday gathering. ⭐️ by @decor8
