🚁 May the 4th be with you. Today marks 10 years of making Star Wars Day animations

Continuing the May 4th narrative, this year’s vignette introduces the Imperial special forces unit: the Asymmetric Warfare Squad. Accompanied by two detachments of Stormcommandos, the assault teams descend to the surface of SERELLA to apprehend the downed X-wing pilot featured in previous installments.Special thanks to @SafeSolvent for photoscanning @tk78412 to portray the lead Stormcommando! and to @StewyIsCool for returning as the X-Wing pilot!! Also, a huge thank you to @DarylPinsdorf for collaborating on, mixing, and mastering the SFX pass! I really appreciate everyone’s time!

🤖 Happy Star Wars Day

This year’s cinematic continues the May 4th storyline, following Delta Zero One as they rescue the downed X-Wing pilot from previous vignettes while escaping the Imperial base on SERELLA. With the mission compromised, Sarah makes a fateful sacrifice, clearing a path for the team to break out of the facility and push into the city.

I’ve been planning this ciné for three years and have always wanted to explore what it would look like to portray a Force-sensitive (Similfuturus) soldier in combat. Special thanks to my wife @Swo.n for playing the main character this year!! and a huge thank you to @DarylPinsdorf for mixing, collaborating and mastering the SFX pass — you always make these feel so special!

☕️ Space cappuccinos with Daryl on Nubara!

—

NERD PLOT STUFF:
Daryl, an assassin-for-hire known as “The Operative,” assumes the role of a barista at a local coffee shop on the planet Nubara to covertly track down an individual responsible for stealing classified data. His mission is to identify the location where the target intends to sell the data to an undisclosed military contact and eliminate them both.

—

• When @darylpinsdorf mentioned he wanted his character to make “space cappuccinos,” I knew I had to create a Geeblepunk version of @miiiguel.p’s Mexico City coffee shop (@postcafe.mx). Thanks for the reference footage Miguel!

• Shoutout to @duke.oliver, @newyorkcityvibe, and @admmxwl for recording dialogue, and to @colamia for letting me photoscan her as a coffee patron!

• Special thanks to @lognamackya for a last-minute color grading pass— I really appreciate it!

• And of course, huge thanks to @darylpinsdorf for the incredible sound design, music, and for recording his own facial and body motion capture!

🍳 Just a dude makin his eggs on Halikann Prime

I wanted to create an epilogue-style slice-of-life in which I could name locations, summarize previous events, and explain the outcomes without having to depict them visually— so naturally I went with space eggs.

Special thanks to the homie @darylpinsdorf for being my announcer guy and designing all the sounds!! And @wolfspritzer for letting me photoscan him to be my industrial worker dude! 🫶

🥊 Kenzo Krigyyr vs Mork Beribo | SHOCKMITT 299

Initially this cinematic was just meant to depict a droid waiting for the bus during rainy blue hour— however I don’t like having free time and made it a lot more challenging for myself 🥹

Huge thanks to @darylpinsdorf for designing all the SFX and making this ciné a billion times better!!!
