Yesterday Beck found the awesomeness attraction, Tama Station, it’s a cat themed train station. Apparently they were going to close the station, but the locals had other plans, so they made a cat themed train train station master, and they pay him food for the year. Tama is now in the 3rd incarnation (if that sounds correct) but when the cats retire they get a new station master.. anyways was a great day, there’s a video of Beck better explaining than me.. taken in Super Station Master Tama by @deejaykatch

So lucky to randomly catch the local Shirahama Tiger Dance Troupe on the eve of the Kamaishi Matsuri Festival.
We’re having pizza tonight in this little Japanese bar that’s playing jazz and I haven’t felt like my cup was this full in a long time.
Catching these random moments is one thing, but doing so with your soul mate is just the cherry. 🍒

While we’ve been loving our crazy adventures, I thought I’d take a moment to show gratitude to the phenomenal beauty that is the Japanese landscape. Aside from simply being spectacularly gorgeous visually, there is an intention both organic & by design to create harmony between humans & nature. I’m sure Shinto & Buddhism play important roles in the way the architecture of something as mundane as a tunnel through a mountain can be created with such reverence for nature, or the scaled hillside of a rice paddy. It’s all just so thoughtful yet it never feels contrived. I love Australia, it’s a beautiful country, but I’ve also always known I am a child of the forests, as I’ve longed for the greenery of the north hemisphere my whole life. by @deejaykatch

Yesterday we left Kyoto and drove west to Amanohashidate, ( I’m on a Hashi date) to break it down, seeing I couldn’t pronounce it, but I can now..
We stopped off at the cable car, took chair lift up to the top.. What a view the call it the Heavenly bridge, it’s a skinny pice of land connecting to I don’t know.. Apparently if you take a photo thru ya legs.. it looks like a dragons tail.. Then we proceed to do some archery, yes it’s another bulls eye.. I think I found a new hobby that will also keep us alive during the zombie apocalypse.. Afterwards we drove Aqua villa Kyoto Amanohashidate, to an glamping space, Beck once again found an amazing spot, right on the water. She killed it.. We went fishing and a sunset cruise, we both ended up catching fish. On the way back the boat driver handed everyone a packed of prawn chips to feed the seagulls.. Music is a wonderful thing, Ive been blessed with the journey it has taken me. I get to travel and meet like minded people across the globe and back home. Yesterday I got to meet and hang with @chikashinishiwaki up in his home town Tsurga ..
We hung out at his space, Tree which is a small little bar, we listened to and shared music and stories. He told me he lived in Brisbane for a year in 2001. Around that time I was away and constantly touring and DJing around the country with Resin Digs. Chikashi has a huge connection with Brisbane music and DJs, we knew all the same people.. what an amazing day. I also met his wife EMI who played some piano for us, again amazing & such loving people..Thank you for sharing and taking time to meet up.. Also big shout out to @tyronenoonan for the connect and big ups to Ravi.. i will say this we shall return !! taken in Tsuruga, Fukui by @deejaykatch

Went to the samurai/ ninja museum in Kyoto, had a blast with the wifey showing off our skills, and yes I hit the bullseye with the shuriknen in the comp.. after a test we then hit the Shinto Shrine in Inari, got there just in time for the sunset. Still massive crowds but always worth the journey. by @deejaykatch

Today we hit the Samurai and Ninja experience. We missed it last year & it was well worth the wait. Boys as young as 12 would fight in massive battles of 40k plus warriors. We had a competitive throwing shuriken (ninja star) Katchie @deejaykatch won out of the whole group & immediately gave it to me (he may come to regret that one day 😂).
One of the coolest things was the length of the bows. They were nearly as tall as me, as you can see in the reflection as I took the photo.

Everyone was shocked to hear women could be both Samurai and 🥷 but I wasn’t seeing I’ve trained in ninjutsu in my 30s. Women make the best assassins 😌
