It's been wonderful to have @leeem.music clarinet quartet, @deems_iu playing solo, the puppetry of @aracelipuppetheatre and the projections of @ottocox last month at St Stephen's Church! Here are a couple of clips. Thanks for the great turnout 🙌

The next Transcendental Promotions event is next month, on 22nd July at @thejamjar_bristol . An international guest and the finest Bristol jazz musicians celebrate 100 years of Miles Davis. Tickets are already going fast, on Headfirst ☝️

OH YES WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!

Lily Mackay & Friends make a return for the sixth instalment of their much-loved Reworks series, joined by two more powerhouse vocalists, Elisha Rodrigo and Luna Kali.

You're invited on a journey through Queen B's timeless catalogue, reworking a mix of iconic tracks from the smooth RnB grooves of 'Dangerously in Love' and 'B'day' right through to the bold and empowering sounds of 'Lemonade' and 'Renaissance'.

A one-off night not to be missed! See you for a singalong.

Free Entry (crazy, right) so get down early taken in The Gallimaufry by @deems_iu

Deems Experiment continue their February residency this Thursday.

Three reworks back-to-back-to-back - It’s an ambitious undertaking, befitting Deems himself.

What a challenge: intricately arranging music with bandmates/guests. New sets weekly.

Rewarding too.

He tells me it’s helped him fall in love with music again... Rediscover, listen… and further expand his musical ability.

Sometimes the many other demands of life get in the way.

Deems works as a Research Associate at the Living System Institute in Exeter. Looking into the physics of early embryo development.

“I’m using maths and physics to understand early embryo development, hoping to replace some forms of animal testing with computer simulations.”

The Afrobeat-Allstars night was a vibrant deep dive, partly inspired by his personal story (and sibling Lauretta, who suggested some of the set list).

This Thursday expect classic garage tunes with a Nu Jazz twist, @battmankss on mc and DJ @jamie_jtjt adding samples live.
