Today evening in the Madnapur area, a decade-long dream finally came true.

In the frame is Junabai, accompanied by her four cubs, fathered by the mighty Xylo male. As the family moved gracefully through the forest, they passed by the ancient Junabai Temple — a place deeply woven into the local folklore and the very reason this tigress carries her name.

For years, I had imagined a moment where Junabai would bring her cubs to the temple that inspired her identity, almost as if introducing the next generation to the blessings of the land they now call home.

Whether coincidence or nature’s poetry, it felt like a sacred procession — a mother guiding her cubs through one of the most iconic corners of Tadoba.

I had been waiting nearly a decade for this photograph, and today, the forest gifted it to me.

In the heart of the wild, safety is found in the strongest of bonds. Seeing a Sloth Bear mother carrying her cubs on her back is a sight that never gets old. The perfect blend of strength and tenderness.

43 degrees. Peak noon. Total solitude with the elusive ZARA.

Tadoba core keeps its secrets well, but today, she decided to share a moment. Truly a treat for the soul.
