A feature on today’s @timesofindia (The Times of India) — @bangalore_times (Bangalore Times)

The article, “Karthik Samprathi captures the many forms of faith at Kulasai Dasara,” reflects on the making of Roopa and my photographic engagement with the rituals, people and lived experiences behind Kulasai Dasara.

For me, photography takes time, time to observe, to live in a place, to allow moments to unfold naturally, and finally, to bring an image to life as a print.

Through Roopa, I explore ritual transformation and the relationship between the human and the divine, expressed through black-and-white photographs and handmade silver gelatin prints.

Grateful to @deeps115 and Bangalore Times for featuring the work and sharing the ideas behind it.

Roopa — Ritual, Transformation and the Photograph

On view at Alliance Française de Bangalore until 20 October 2026.

Pizza at midnight? Cup noodles at 2 am? 🌙 Late-night cravings don’t always have to end in an instant, processed snack.

Whether you’re a new parent running on little sleep or squeezing in a late-evening workout after a long day, what you eat matters. Experts break down what to reach for, and what to skip, depending on your body’s needs.

In today's working world, more and more professionals are choosing not to go the extra mile: a phenomenon known as quiet quitting. Is it a loss of motivation or a shift towards work-life balance?

I explore the changing expectations of today’s workforce in my latest story for Deccan Herald Weekend. Thank you @dee_4_darsh @_alchemyofemotions_ @maheshn @priyankarjun @lynnmisquith for giving me your valuable inputs.

Thank you to my editor @disoriented.pieces for the interesting idea and the assistance. @dhfeatures.

What happens when an entire community is denied entry into temples because of its caste? The Ramnami community in Chhattisgarh responded by tattooing the name of Ram across their bodies, turning exclusion into a powerful expression of faith.

Filmmaker @bharatbala documentary Ramnami, which brings this remarkable story to light, has won the Rajat Kamal for Best Documentary at the 72nd National Film Awards.

Under the moonlit mystical domes of Delhi's monuments, history and culture are coming together in ways least expected.

@simarmalhotra12 , the Stanford- and Columbia-educated founder of @inkpotindia_ , is reimagining the city’s cultural spaces with Songs of the Stone which brings classical concerts to places like Qutub Minar and Purana Qila. Also the author of two novels, she organises heritage walks and clean-up drives to maintain the beauty of these iconic landmarks.

The next concert of the series features @amritakaurmusic live at Purana Qila on Oct 10-11.

Here is my interview with Simar for @global_indian_official

Writing about a good cause truly makes me very happy and this is one story I was particularly glad to tell.

@kulsumshadabwahab has done extraordinary work with acid attack survivors over the years with @ara.lumiere and @hothurfoundation and this time, her collaboration with celebrated artist @raghavakk has truly put these resilient women in the spotlight once again.

A project that gave the women the opportunity to paint over their passport images and be part of the creative process, Passport is being presented at the @milanfashionweek.

Science and art have never been the best of friends but today, young innovators are using tech to find exciting ways to bring them together.

One of them is @harvard student @avantika_velho, a biodesigner and co-founder of @biopodco, who uses plants, fungi and living systems to help restore polluted waterways and wetlands. Recently in India for an immersive science show at @sunaparanta_goa, the young, creative and thoughtful changemaker spoke to me on how protecting nature requires both innovation and responsibility.

Sharing my interview of hers for @global_indian_official. Do give it a read!

He is a sculptor of international acclaim. Yet Ravinder Reddy's artistic practices are extremely rooted in India's rich culture.

It was truly an honour to speak to and write about an artist of such calibre for @indiatoday ❤️

His solo exhibition, In Search of the Perfect Image, is on at @gallerysumukha, as it celebrates 30 years, till October 3.

Read about Ravinder's journey and the show here: https://www.indiatoday.in/amp/magazine/leisure/story/20260928-the-once-and-future-sculptor-g-ravinder-reddys-first-solo-exhibition-2997445-2026-09-18

“Well, it is amoooosing!” 😂 Chandler's take on amuse-bouche in Friends still makes me laugh!

A tiny bite, a big idea. My latest story explores how chefs are getting creative with amuse-bouches, turning them into little previews of their culinary world.

From watermelon and rose cookies to inventive Japanese bites, here's a look at the delicious beginnings of a meal.

Earlier this year, I had gone to @thecloaksociety, a speakeasy at @ritzcarltonbangalore where hooded figures walked around serving us. When my Potterhead daughter saw the images, she promptly declared the cloaked figures “Death Eaters.”

I wrote an article and made a reel on it which somehow led me down a much bigger rabbit hole involving hidden doors, secret passwords, moody rooms, elevated plates and of course, cocktails that are outstanding works of art.

Pleased to share a larger piece of mine in @indiatoday on India’s evolving speakeasy culture - from Bengaluru to Delhi and Hyderabad, I spoke to the people creating these intriguing little worlds.

Thank you @half_a_bawa @theoutlier.hq @y.a.m.i.n.i_ @shivanihabib @radhikamisra1 @barbetandpals @olivedelhi @thehiddenclub.thc @ishnooorsingh @longformgram @afterdinnergoa @oxymorons.hyd @twinklekeswani @passcodeonly @passcode.hospitality @sheetalie @theleelapalacebengaluru @zlb23.in @intelliiquo @sonaliisokhal @script_pr @_shreyashreee @varshabala97 @sparkplug_inc for guiding me with this massive feature.
