A feature on today’s @timesofindia (The Times of India) — @bangalore_times (Bangalore Times)

The article, “Karthik Samprathi captures the many forms of faith at Kulasai Dasara,” reflects on the making of Roopa and my photographic engagement with the rituals, people and lived experiences behind Kulasai Dasara.

For me, photography takes time, time to observe, to live in a place, to allow moments to unfold naturally, and finally, to bring an image to life as a print.

Through Roopa, I explore ritual transformation and the relationship between the human and the divine, expressed through black-and-white photographs and handmade silver gelatin prints.

Grateful to @deeps115 and Bangalore Times for featuring the work and sharing the ideas behind it.

Roopa — Ritual, Transformation and the Photograph

On view at Alliance Française de Bangalore until 20 October 2026.

She once couldn’t swim one length of a pool. Now she has finished the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

At 20, @renee.noronha is the youngest Indian woman to finish the race: a 3.8 km swim, a 180.2 km cycle, and a 42.2 km marathon, back-to-back.

She completed her first full-distance IRONMAN in New Zealand in 2024, at 18, and earned her place at Kona by winning her 18–24 age group at IRONMAN Philippines in June.

Indian chefs are getting creative with their amuse-bouches, and offering a fusion of flavours. From mini tartlets to spiced-up rose cookies and even pani puris with a cocktail twist, the little bites are aimed at showcasing the philosophy and personality of the chef and the dining space. Truly the art of making a great first impression!

Sanithra Raju's grandmother never wrote a single recipe down. She just cooked, and when the kitchen went quiet, decades of flavor went with it. That's what pulled Sanithra back to Bengaluru after a year studying design in London, not a business plan, just the sense that every Indian home was sitting on the same disappearing archive. So she built Tijouri, a 30-seat restaurant where home chefs who've never worked a professional kitchen finally get one, cooking dishes that never made it past a family's kitchen drawer. It wasn't an easy sell. People don't trust a stranger's food overnight, so she earned that trust one story, one chef, one pop-up at a time. At the same time, through the Atria Foundation, she has helped put more than 1.5 crore free meals into the hands of people across the city who needed them. Thirty seats in one room. Over fifteen million meals across Bengaluru. Same person, same belief: that food is memory, and memory is worth keeping before it disappears. Her grandmother's recipes never made it into a cookbook. Tijouri is what happened instead.

Honoured to be featured by The Federal for sharing my journey towards becoming the youngest athlete to complete a full-distance IRONMAN on six continents by the age of 21.

Every finish line represents countless early mornings, long training sessions, setbacks, sacrifices, and the unwavering support of so many people around me.

Thank you to Deepa Natarajan Lobo for taking the time to tell my story so thoughtfully. I truly appreciate the feature and the opportunity to inspire more people to believe that big dreams are possible.

The journey continues… 🌍🏊🚴🏃🇮🇳
