A recent outing in which I got lucky with the light. They always talk about the golden hour or the blue hour. To me it’s more like 3 minutes especially when capturing these. There’s only ever a few minutes when the sky is saturated enough and reflects on the ocean surface with just the right amount of light.

I always get DM’s asking for tips on how to create these so I though I’d post my number one tip here.

Try flipping your abstract images around and test out different orientations. It can give an image a completely different look. If you look back at some of my other abstracts on IG try turning your phone around on some of them and you’ll have a whole new perspective.

#cudgen is one of my favourite places to work on my photography. With all the border closures this year I haven’t been able to get down at all. Let’s hope 2021 gets better. I don’t think it could get any worse. Happy New Year when the time comes.

Kaboom! I always head to the same spot when a storm comes through that coincides with a higher tide. I may always be waiting for long periods but eventually there’s a collision.
