Trying to make the perfect #motionblur spin effect over the potato coral. How much spin is too much? You can still see the fish in some shots. A faster #shutterspeed would have captured more fish but less creative blur. Which is your favourite? #sprinklesaltonyoursoul

I decided to do some shooting up at the Mogollon rim last weekend. I tested my Askar 400mm and ran my old gear as well.

What you set is 1 hour and 20 minutes integration time. I wanted something above the clouds but also in the rim direction. This was a joy to Vasotec and put together. I should have a video soon of the scope and the weekend. Hope you all enjoy!

Some crazy #storm action on the Gold Coast last night. Did anyone get out to watch it head out to sea?

Did anyone catch the crazy #lightning storm last night over the #goldcoast

Probably the most intense lightning I’ve seen for a few years here. Was beautiful to watch.

Another one from that recent swell we had along the east coast. This one shot just south of the NSW border.

In and around the big swell there are moments of complete calm.

We all need things to draw energy from so we can redirect that in to other creative projects. My ocean work @deepscapes.art is what does it for me. There’s something about combining my passion for the ocean and nature with such an organic photography technique.

A recent outing in which I got lucky with the light. They always talk about the golden hour or the blue hour. To me it’s more like 3 minutes especially when capturing these. There’s only ever a few minutes when the sky is saturated enough and reflects on the ocean surface with just the right amount of light.

We’ve had some amazing skies over the past month. I shot this as a backplate for possible commercial work but it almost stands on its own.

I always get DM’s asking for tips on how to create these so I though I’d post my number one tip here.

Try flipping your abstract images around and test out different orientations. It can give an image a completely different look. If you look back at some of my other abstracts on IG try turning your phone around on some of them and you’ll have a whole new perspective.
