When Danielle North’s son asked for somewhere to play, she saw an opportunity to create something Detroit families needed. That idea became Kidz Kingdom, a place where parents could feel confident leaving their children and kids could feel welcome.
ㅤ
Now, @kidzkingdomdetroit has a bigger home at 20035 Plymouth Rd in District 7. After a decade in a rented storefront, Danielle is celebrating the expansion into her own 11,000-square-foot building, with dedicated spaces for childcare, summer camp and birthday parties.
ㅤ
An $85,000 Motor City Match Round 23 grant helped bring the new childcare space to completion. We were proud to celebrate this milestone with Danielle and her community at our 212th neighborhood ribbon cutting.
ㅤ
Congratulations to Danielle and the Kidz Kingdom team! If you’re looking for childcare or planning your little one’s next celebration, explore what this Detroit business has to offer.

More housing, more neighborhood investment and more opportunities for Detroiters to live near the places they work, shop and spend time.

The opening of The Hive on Russell brings 78 new affordable apartments to a previously vacant site between Eastern Market and Lafayette Park, adding new housing in an area surrounded by businesses, transportation and some of Detroit’s most active community destinations.

All 78 apartments are rent restricted for households earning between 30% and 60% of Area Median Income, helping ensure more Detroiters can live near Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut and the growing economic activity throughout the surrounding area. by @degcallbusiness
