Exciting news! We’re putting out a new title via our mi press Hot Sprocket. Our very own Tori Bowler and their book “Horror Movie Tinder”!

From Tori:

I’ve been working on this comic for a little over a year, and it collects three volumes: Monsters, Villains, and Protagonists! Protagonists has never been printed and the other two have some extra characters 😉”

It’ll be premiering at this weekend’s @lazinefest so if you’re in LA be sure to pick up one of the first copies!! We’ll have more news surrounding Horror Movie Tinder, Tori’s work, and Hot Sprocket in the new future.

OMG OMG OMG
My friend @spiritedwords did the best thing ever and hand delivered my Horror Movie Tinder comic and Saw riso print to @shawneethesmiths (aka Amanda Young)
They were also given to @tobinbellofficial but his team didn’t allow photos!
I now have autographs from two favorite actors of mine, they’ve both changed my life 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️🔪🩸 by @delightful.horror

Joa and I hosted my Silence of the Lambs themed 27th birthday this past weekend! We were surrounded by our wonderful family!
We ate good food, played games, and watched my favorite movie of all time!!

Saw #campmiasma this weekend and it was FANTASTIC, if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend. This one is for the horror loving lesbians out there (aka ME 😖😌🏳️‍🌈🙂‍↕️)

Reading the cartoonist co-op article today about all the issues that the artists and writers who worked/continue to work with Sprocket are still having really brought up a lot of emotions for me today. I will forever champion all of the artist friends I’ve made, both in the Bay Area and worldwide.

The long drawn out issues regarding payments, poorly worded contracts, and a plethora of other problems that you can read about in the article, makes my heart hurt. I’ve been gone for a year and these artists are still dealing with the same issues they were when I left.

It’s been a year since I worked as the mail order manager (manager being a self awarded title, but I think it’s deserved) at Silver Sprocket. I have a big mixed bag of emotions, a lot of them are sad ones for my friends and family. But, I look back on a lot of times with fond memories.

Working at Sprocket for three years allowed me to make lifelong friends, reinvigorated my passion to make art, introduced me to the local indie art scene, allowed me to go to many comic conventions, meet my favorite artists, and helped me publish Horror Movie Tinder.

It is immensely painful that the physical shop no longer exists. For me it housed so many wonderful experiences, but the moment some of my friends were laid off, it was never the same. It existed as a wonderful social place for queer outsiders to gather, and it’s gone. I don’t want to go into any of the issues, but if you Google Silver Sprocket article, you can read everything there.

I wanted to take the chance to share some of the fond memories from the last three years of working there. I miss the experience. by @delightful.horror
