Delve Withrington joins us at #TypeCon2026 as an emcee. Delve is the founder of Delve Fonts and a type designer with three decades of experience. He previously designed type at FontShop and Monotype, and has collaborated with master designers including Sumner Stone, Robin Nicholas, and Jim Parkinson. At Delve Fonts he creates his own typefaces, works with other designers to publish their original type designs, and creates custom type on commission for clients including: The Mac Miller Estate, Google, Hasbro, Red Hat, and more. Delve was named one of GDUSA’s People to Watch in 2021. He served on the SOTA board of directors—the organization behind TypeCon—from 2012 to 2018, founded the San Francisco chapter of Type Thursday in 2016, and has been a member of the Type Directors Club since 1997. Amboy by the late Jim Parkinson is a Mid-Century showcard lettering “Gaspipe” style typeface still seen even today across the United States. This expansion update greatly expands the language support to 502 for Latin script, adds more alternate glyphs, and introduces some fun and useful catchwords, arrows, and symbols. It is a pleasure to announce 1403 Vintage Mono by Jeff Kellem @composerjk is now available at Delve Fonts (link in bio). Inspired by the IBM 1403 mainframe line printer from the 1960s, this typeface is the product of Kellem’s in-depth research, critical design adjustments, and rigorous proofing. Over time, the original design came to occupy a position in modern visual culture at the intersection of technology and science fiction, with a well-earned dash of nostalgia. The “Pro” version of 1403 Vintage Mono has a large repertoire of glyphs — clocking in at 366 Latin-based languages supported, including: Vietnamese, Catalan, Czech, and Polish. Two decades after working with @rogerdavidblack on a typeface based on ATF Jenson for Rolling Stone® magazine in the mid ’70s, Jim Parkinson went back to the original Jenson types to inform the design of Benicia. The result: a typeface that is less rigid than ATF Jenson that has a rich typographic history with modern design features that is brilliant in text settings.
