Steven Heller’s Font of the Month for September is Ritualist.

As usual, this monthly typographic feast is served with a side of Heller’s inimitable charm, humor and erudition.

Loniki from Delve Fonts.

Based on a 5th-century inscription, Loniki’s rational geometry and sinuous curves embody the blend of cultures prevalent in the Thessaloniki region at the time. The inscribed letterforms suggest a stirring mix of masculine and feminine, east and west, and classical, Byzantine, and Gothic. Available in two styles (Regular and Symbols), Loniki is a distinctive, beautiful display font with discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates plus support for 229 languages, including Greek, Coptic, and Vietnamese. Use Loniki Symbols to apply the aesthetic to a layout with its 140+ symbols, devices, and ornaments.

3rd Font Friends Hangout at the @letterformarchive, organized by @pnowelldesign and @delvew @delvefonts. Ran late due to board meeting, traffic, and fixing food to eat along the way.

@doreuli showed their new @contrastfoundry Hamburgerfonts Type Specimen! Amazing work with @tooot.sf. The power of working with great designers. Order your own copy.

Great to see folk. Trying to make more time for my @slantedhall type design work and coding. Announcements soon. Talk to prepare but not where type designers expect.

Hope to see people again next time and continue conversations, especially with those that were short. Separately, I aim to return to @typecon in August in Portland, OR.

🐈‍⬛ Happy Halloween! 🎃

The Sketchnote typeface by @rohdesign is an informal handwritten style that lends warmth and a personal touch to any message or subject. This font automatically cycles through alternate glyphs of alphabetic characters for a more authentic representation of handwriting. The Sketchnote family has four styles Text, Text Italic, Text Bold, Square and a fun dingbats font, which does include a kitty face. 😺
