California's Vietnamese New Wave era (1980s-1990s) was groundbreaking. Curator, DJ, producer and Creative Director @Demonslayer__ gives us a brief introduction to the vibrant scene that birthed a never-before-seen take on Vietnamese American entertainment and media. Emerging from Little Saigon in Orange County, California came a music and lifestyle scene that became known as "New Wave"; it incorporated Eurodance, Synth-Pop, Italo Disco, Hi-NRG, Electronica and other genres into a mixed bag of synthesizers and a new, counter culture Vietnamese identity. Some Vwave icons from the era are Ngọc Lan, Kim Ngân, Anh Tu, Lynda Trang Đài and Tuấn Anh.
