I was invited to culturally direct the first ever Tết celebration by Hennessy 🙌🏼 My responsibility was to honor the culture, elevate the experience and keep it 100% authentic. Everything from the Viet-owned venue, to the cuisine, the music, the Tết traditions, the guestlist, down to the visual language and the gift bags, we kept it intentional and contemporary. Almost two decades working as a cultural and creative director in both Vietnam and the US, it was the perfect role for me, it was identity; globally refined and unmistakably Vietnamese! My spirit is full. We made history. Hennessy’s first ever Vietnamese Tết celebration; done our way. A room filled w Vietnamese excellence. Paris By Night royalty, creatives, leaders, community. Unity. Pride. A building full of người Việt and allies. I chose the Airliner for its musical legacy: now Viet-owned, newly-renovated. The classic bar energy and authentic Vietnamese cuisine downstairs, pristine HiFi audio acoustics upstairs. From Viet fusion Henny cocktails, the decor, the gift bags to the Bầu Cua Tôm Cá, every detail was intentional. As Cultural Director, my goal wasn’t just to throw another function. It was to build something that was elevated, modern, electric and unmistakably Vietnamese. Ending the night with @Biphm and myself on the decks, playing Vinahouse, Vietnamese New Wave, Vpop, Viet rap…seeing vibrant áo dài shakin’ azz and moving across the dance floor was wild. Grateful to @HennessyUS for the trust. Shout out to my cohosts @MikeVan (CEO of @billboard) and @Thachman (@theforefrontgroup) for crushing it. Mad appreciation to Vinh and the @AirlinerBar crew for doing an amazing job. Huge thanks to @CatrinaChang @ThatsMyGirlMo @Vianca.Collazo for doing a crazyyy job on bringing it all together in every aspect. The feedback from people has been mind-blowing! First time in Miami history; the largest Tết celebration the city has ever seen 🫠 @tamtamlunarfest was unforgettable, surreal. Asian and Vietnamese music blasting all across downtown Miami. Latin, Afro cultures intertwined and claiming its deserved space. Joy and excellence all around. We all celebrated life this weekend 🙏🏽 It was sweeet to meet all you lovely Miami folk thank you for vibing w me 😭 Thank you to @tam.tam.mia and crew for the lovely hospitality and putting together a block party that is first of its kind, and for bringing out me, @_giafu and @space_tak to headline. Extra special thanks to @saturnsarii and @suztypebeat for taking care of the artist and handling biz!!
