🌟I taught this exercise in Level 2!

The challenge is that the first heel you drop changes every time. This was designed for dancers age 8-9 to adult with 1-2+ years of continuous and focused tap training.
In class, I break it down slowly and methodically to make it achievable for students.

Something new is coming to Phoenix Tap Fest. 🩵

The Annex Series: Looking Back, Looking Ahead.

Four weekends celebrating tap lineage—honoring the mentors who shaped the art form, the artists carrying it forward, and the next generation entrusted with its legacy.

First up: Steve Zee, honoring his mentor Stan Kahn, alongside Steve’s mentee Dante Lara.

Learn the history. Honor the legacy. Carry it forward. 🩵

I don’t have words to describe how much I absolutely loved this book.

I think it’s necessary to listen to the audiobook.
Kelly reads it herself, and honestly, I want to listen to it all over again.

Played dress-up tonight and performed at the Senate Theater’s 100th anniversary celebration!

There was also magic, fire eating, juggling, the GOAT of organists accompanying the performances, a killer emcee, the Buster Keaton film “One Week” accompanied live, and believe it or not, MORE!

Gems like the Senate Theater keep us steeped in humanity and community.
We’re grateful to be included in the lineup. 🤩 taken in Senate Theater by @denisecaston

Did you know that the Phoenix Tap Fest began in 2013? Originally called “Just West of Broadway” and incorporated not only tap dancing but all aspects of the performing arts. Over the years, we have offered over 1,000 classes and had around 40-45 faculty members come through! A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of our events over the years! 2027 schedule and announcements on their way!! Stay tuned!! #phoenixtapfest #tapdance #justwestofbroadway #tapfestival taken in Studio Z by @denisecaston
