Today is the International Day of Democracy - and anyone taking notice recognises that democracy in multiple countries is under great threat. Even in Australia where we have the structures of a democracy but often not the practices of a democracy. Every issue we face can be solved by our positive, constructive and active participation in our democracy. I do this by championing our excellent independent news media sector - and by supporting community groups and independent candidates around the country. So - on this International Day of Democracy - ask yourself - what can you do to support our democracy? Remember - no one is coming to save us but us - we all have a role to play! 🙌🙌 by @deniseshrivell

The major party system is not working for Australians as they yet again show they are incapable of putting our needs first. We all have a role to play to address this #auspol by @deniseshrivell

A quiet week. Thanks to the overwhelming number of people who have messaged me, and the passionate locals who have already emailed or met with me to generously share their feedback and ask to get involved. Grateful is an understatement. We’re just getting started. by @deniseshrivell
