Tomorrow is five years since Allie was paralyzed and it’s a tough week at our house every year. It’s the time change, the weather starting to get colder and the leaves starting to change that signals it’s that time of year.

I always force myself to look at old pictures and videos of her this week so that I can try to cry and feel better but I’m like Amanda Woods in the movie The Holiday and can’t shed a tear even though I REALLY want to.

2020-2022 were the most traumatic times in our lives and the only way I we survived was with God. He went before me and He goes behind me. He keeps me going when it’s hard to breathe and I feel weak from overwhelming sadness. He is EVERYTHING 🙌🏻

5 things about me: ✌🏻

1. My daughter was paralyzed in 2020 and it’s very tough for us but God has showed us the beauty in brokenness. Our full story is in episode 3 “Deonna’s Story” on @raisingdisabledpodcast ❤️‍🩹

2. I host @raisingdisabledpodcast with my friend @rhandyllorae and it’s a great place to feel seen and heard and learn to advocate. ♿️

3. My brother died suddenly in 2022 and I’m STILL not ok and will always miss him. 💔

4. I do #devowithdeonna every Wednesday and it’s a great way for me to encourage people through my grief. 🙌🏻
