WE CONQUERED THE CANYON! Yesterday, @bradshuu and I completed Rim to Rim to Rim, a 45 mile journey running across the Grand Canyon and back. Soaking in God's beautiful creation, 2 million years in the making. From sunrise to sunset we marveled in the landscape. The sun painting the canyon walls, and the echoes of the raging colorado river continuously carving and shaping the earth. As the sun sank down, we ventured into the darkness, using only our feet to cover 20,000 ft of elevation change in and out of the canyon. Descending deep into the canyon where less than 1% of visitors have gone and endlessly climbing back to the top; guided by billions of stars stretching overhead. We laughed, we cried, we danced, and smiled from ear to ear. Our feet riddled with pain on every step for hours on end. We conquered the canyon and conquered ourselves. 2023 - No doubt it was the absolute BEST year of our lives. From buying a house, taking Oliver on many adventures around the country and across the sea, Derek crushing his goals of running his first 100 mile race (and doing it twice) and making timeless memories with family and friends. We are so thankful for this life and the amazing people around us. We LOVE being parents, traveling, working hard, and we love doing it all with our family and friends by our side. We are excited to do it all again, but even more extreme in 2024! ✌️❤️ by @derekflodmand

125 miles ✔️ For years, I pushed my body and mind to the extremes so that when I was in the midst of the battle, when the pain shocked my body with every step, when my knees would buckle and my mind begging for relief, I would keep going.

Through 43 hours, 133 miles of running and barely 10 minutes of sleep, I experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows, but never did it cross my mind to give up. I kept going.

I ran 65 miles further than ever before. I went from falling asleep on the trail, barely able to take a step, to effortlessly cruising 8 minute miles from mile 90-105, breaking records with every step. I kept going.

I was hallucinating for over 12 hours, climbing mountains in complete darkness, freezing temperatures and 70mph winds. I kept going.

Through all of that, I smiled from ear to ear, my eyes filled with tears of joy and I felt an immense amount of peace because this was the moment where my dream was no longer a dream.

This was the moment where I overcame all of my doubts and fears.

This was the moment where the thousands of hours of training, the late nights, the early mornings, and time away from friends and family became worth it.

This was the moment that my dream became a reality.

Crossing the finish line, I realized that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I realized that I can endure any challenge that comes my way.

I felt strong, capable, and undeniably proud for never giving up on this dream.

I felt unstoppable because I kept going.

35 miles and 5,000 feet of climbing!! @randybaca_ and I had an epic day running around Las Cruces and through the mountains 👌 It felt amazing to just do something hard again and enjoy it the day outside.
