I forgot to share this! A month ago I finished the roadrunner! Installation went great! The piece is already rusting as planned. I couldn't be happier with the end result! On to the western diamondback! by @derkec

Finished my roof today. Rage and some help from pops got it done smoothly. I don't want to hear any noise from it for another 10 years. by @derkec

Made a princess cat perch to go next to my desk. I was thinking of maybe making a few of these and selling them. It was quite a bit of work but fun to make. 👑 😸 🛌 by @derkec

We are excited to have @derkec as one of our featured artists for the first Rayenari Arts Festival this November 1st and 2nd at the Sunland Park Sports Complex on 4700 McNutt rd in Sunland Park, NM!

Derek is an El Paso, Texas based sculptor from Eagan, Minnesota. His sculptural works fall into two groups. One: explores the complexity of translational geometry and stellation, expanding simple geometric forms through symmetrical extensions creating a 3-dimensional kaleidoscopic form. Two: retains his interest in repetition and geometry but pairs it with his fascination for space and deities. In this series, Derek is fabricating a fictional narrative of a now disclosed secret space race between the United States’ NASA and the former Soviet Union’s CCCP space program focused on the discovery of celestial deities. #rayenarilights #sunlandparknm #lightbasedart #borderartists #sculpture #derekcaulfield by @derkec

It was my pleasure and honor to accept the UTEP President's Meritorious Service Award this morning. It has been 10 years since I began my journey at UTEP and I am thankful that I get to spend each day working with so many amazing people. It is humbling to be recognized and awarded for my efforts. I will strive to be the best I can and help as many as possible. Thank you David. Thank Kim. And thank you DoArt. taken in University Of Texas At El Paso by @derkec
