“Your body will do ANYTHING your mind tells it to, including quit!” @coachkj__

Just sharing this bar from this mornings workout. @cole_jacks and I had talked about a workout because KJ was gonna be in town. I thought it was small group, little do I know I walk in and it’s a full blown practice. Not many more people I enjoy watching coach more than this man. Luckily had the blessing of being coaching by him for four years. Even luckier to consider him and his family close friends/family. If I have ever coached you then you’ll know who I attempt to emulate when doing so, but idk if I’ll ever be able to fill those shoes by @deron_winn

Nostalgia is the word that best describes this last week in Indiana. I competed in every national dual tournament for 6 years straight in Jr High & HS. I was the head 14u womens national duals coach for Colorado this year. But the coolest thing is we traveled with every age group (14/16/18U) and stayed together the entire time so we were all basically ONE. @chrisformanek asked me to coach this team months ago and he put together a star studded team. Due to some unforeseen injuries we had to forfeit weights that were originally filled and we lost to PA in both styles by literally ONE point. Both duals came down to the last match it was cinematic. We ended 3rd in Free and 4th in Greco out of about 40 teams. It was so so fun and I’m very proud to have been able to help lead this group of such talented young ladies. Best believe I’m excited to help get Colorado to be one of the strongest states in the country in the near future! Had fun getting to know some of these Colorado coaches better too! Starting to feel like home now! by @deron_winn

Turning 37 years old today is actually nuts to say. But, this year has been one of my favorite chapters if not my favorite one. Life has changed drastically in the best way. My path hasn’t always been the smoothest: My son has changed my entire outlook on life, it’s amazing. Thanks to everyone who shows me love and support still. I’m so excited to keep climbing this mountain. So many exciting things coming in the near future! Love y’all! -Melos dad taken in Denver, Colorado by @deron_winn
