What is a legacy? The things a person does and achieves throughout a lifetime form a powerful legacy that people will remember about them. It’s the total of your life’s experiences, beliefs, values, and traditions that will be passed to future generations. You never know where life will lead us and so soon today will be the past. So grateful to have taken the leap to build a house in Mexico and start a business. Life is short look at the big picture. Do what you love. Leave a legacy …I’m building mine one step at a time.

PEOPLE OF TULUM | EPISODE 1: RACHEL HUGENSCHMIDT

Some people come to Tulum for its beauty. Others fall in love with it so deeply that they become part of shaping what makes it special.

Meet Rachel Hugenschmidt, founder of @JungleLuxeMX, a Tulum-based interior design, construction, and property management company.

Rachel fell in love with Tulum’s distinctive aesthetic. The organic architecture, natural materials, earthy textures, and beautiful connection between indoor and outdoor living.

Today, through Jungle Luxe, she’s helping preserve and shape the design aesthetic that has made Tulum architecture and interior design recognizable around the world.

But her connection to Tulum goes far beyond design.

There’s something about living in Tulum that teaches you to luxuriate in the slowness of life here.

To appreciate the little moments. To reconnect with nature. To discover that sometimes, the greatest luxury is simply having the time to enjoy life.

And that’s part of what makes this place so special.

People of Tulum is a series celebrating the people, entrepreneurs, and creatives who have fallen in love with this destination and are contributing to what makes it extraordinary.

The Art of a Perfect Collaboration.

When exceptional architecture meets refined interior design, the result is more than a beautiful space. It’s an experience defined by harmony, intention, and timeless elegance.

Many of you have been following along since 2022, watching me build another business in Mexico. I’d love to personally invite you to come and see Tulum for yourselves. I’m so grateful for every like, laugh, and encouraging word along the way.

I know some of you haven’t made the trip yet because you’re not sure how to get here or what to do once you arrive. It can feel like a lot to plan. So we planned it for you. My guest services team is there 24/7 and our concierge can help with every detail.

The Jungle Edit is four nights for two, which I think is the perfect amount of time here: enough to slow down, and enough to see the best of Tulum. A one-bedroom at Aflora with your own private pool, a driver waiting at the airport, the Tulum Ruins early before the heat, welcome drinks at Hotel Panamera, a private chef one evening, and massages at the residence before you fly home.

Whether you want to do everything or absolutely nothing, we’ll shape the days around you. Day by day, your itinerary is ready before you land.

$1,500 for two. Travel now through 30 November 2026, or 1 February – 30 April 2027

Send me your dates, or message “Jungle Edit” to our team on WhatsApp: +52 984 134 2097 if you’d like a similar deal for a larger group just say the word and we can customize something.

I’d love to welcome you to our jungle. 🌴🤍🌊🥥 taken in Tulum, México by @desertdesignhouse

Someone had to hold down this business.
Villa checks, pool breaks, a drink somewhere in between 🥂just another day owning a business in Tulum.

It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. Luckily, Mason is always up for the job.🐾🫡
