Tuesday, November 10th at The Historic Y Main Lobby. We welcome Gong Slayer from New Mexico, accompanied by locals Yellow Moon Temple and Violoneux. Doors open at 7:00pm and music starts at 7:30pm. $12 at the door and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Gong Slayer is the project of Drew Gowran, a drummer and percussionist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He comes from a free jazz/improv background, but this project is inspired by the work of percussionist/ composer Tatsuya Nakatani and is an exercise in ritual drone and "sound healing".

As the project's name implies, the music is entirely made with gongs ranging in size from 18 to 48 inches, with no electronics or production effects altering the sound. by @desertdronetucson

"Offering" from Graze The Bell, David Moore's acclaimed solo piano album. Pitchfork writes, "Moore clearly has no interest in niceties. Graze the Bell has a bold, staring-into-the-sun quality; it feels like a shout from the mountaintop: Yes, goddammit, I am alive."

David is in Tucson on Friday, October 9th at Saint Andrews Epsicopal Church in Armory Park. Advance tickets available now at the link in our bio for $15, $18 at the door. Beck Rose and Ryan Wheless' Pedal Steel Bonanza open. Doors open at 7 and music starts at 7:30. by @desertdronetucson

This week, solo ambient pianist David Moore is in Tucson at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Armory Park on Friday, October 9th. David is joined by Beck Rose and Ryan Wheless' Pedal Steel Bonanza. Advance tickets are available in our bio for $15, or $18 at the door. Doors open at 7:00pm and music starts promptly at 7:30. This is an all ages event.

At the forefront of contemporary instrumental music, the work of composer and pianist David Moore gently defies genre. Hailing from Kansas, his folk heritage, alongside his affinity for natural landscapes and spiritual inquiry, infuse his music today. Moore relocated to New York in 2004 where he met like-minded musicians exploring atmospheric, instrumental-based composition. From that creative circle, Bing & Ruth was born. As leader of the ensemble, Moore earned acclaim for his spaciously sublime compositions. He continues to expand his sound through collaboration, experimentation, and intuitive discipline.

In addition to four full-length albums and five EPs with Bing & Ruth, Moore has also released collaborations with Steve Gunn (Let the Moon Be a Planet and Live in London) and Cowboy Sadness (Selected Jambient Works, Vol. 1). From his earliest works to his most recent albums Butterfly Gardens and Graze the Bell, his solo work only deepens the intimate presence central to his art. Merging trance-inducing atmospheres with melodic-driven composition, Moore’s art thrives in liminality. Across an expanding discography, his entrancing music offers a quiet, clarifying return to our shared humanity. by @desertdronetucson
