Getting dogs out of shelters should not be done out of desperation!! There should be a careful plan in place so that the animals are going to a better situation than they were in.

So many times dogs are taken from the shelter only to be forgotten about or to be put in worse situations than they were already in.

In this case two dogs were posted on @mystory_for_a_forever_home so she could try and get them out. An adopter from out of state saw the dogs and saw that they were going to be euthanized that day. She agreed to take them and a rescue was going to pull them. The rescue then put them in boarding with one of their “trusted” people. This guy could not handle the dogs and had no business having them at his house. I was called over to see if I could get the dogs in crates so they could be taken to their neuter appointments. I got them both in crates but while there I felt incredibly unsafe because of the people on the property. The living conditions and the amount of neglect there was so bad. I immediately called animal control when I was back safely in my car. I notified the networker, the adopter and the rescue what was going on there. This whole mission was incredibly stressful for me but thankfully the dogs were removed from the property. Meet Sasha! The easiest dog we have here.

She’s sweet, she’s mellow and she’s quiet. Not your typical husky 😅

We got her from a hoarding situation out in Fontana when her owner passed away in the home and no one knew about it for five days. Animal control wouldn’t come out and help me and the owners son was so unhinged trying to sell all the animals so I went there at night and started taking who I could. Luckily Sasha made it out of that situation.

Now it’s her turn to find an awesome home! She’s so sweet and she lived with about ten dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, etc at her last home.

When you say you’re not taking in any more dogs at the moment but then you see puppies being given away for free and have to help 🫠

This one is probably my most favorite adoption. This is Violet one of the corgis from Texas. She was actually the mom of the puppies I got from there. What’s so exciting about this post is that Violet was adopted by my Auntie Jeannie. So now I get to visit her anytime and get lost of updates on her. Violet is such a sweet little dog and is the perfect temperament for my aunt. She now lives up in Northern California. taken in Sonoma County, CA by @deserving_paws

Well, it didn’t take long for the corgi puppies from Texas to find their homes first. Austin, Houston, Dallas and Abilene have all been officially adopted! by @deserving_paws

The biggest rescue mission I’ve ever taken part in. 10 corgis from California to Texas. 4 are still in Texas and I’m working on getting them all altered and vetted.

From a not so great life to bigger and better things for everyone involved.

Thank you so much to all of the people who donated for this mission. I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

Now let’s get them all adopted!

The two girls running around in this video are socks and gabby. Socks absolutely loves the water and would be the coolest adventure dog. Gabby is super sweet and affectionate. by @deserving_paws

Belle has had a few people reach out interested in adopting her but a few people have made comments about her ears 🫠 they are natural but they do stand up on their own. They just don’t look like typical cropped Doberman ears. So she wanted to do a photo shoot and show you all how extra cute she is and how she doesn’t want people to talk about her ears anymore. 🙈

Anyways, she’s looking for a home. She’s an active high energy girl. Good with other dogs. Good with cats but she does have a high prey drive and will chase rabbits and things outside. She’s a very loyal girl loves to hang out and adventure with her human.

Little corgi update for now. When I have more energy I’ll give another update.

Internally celebrating today that they are all officially spayed and neutered. There’s still four corgis in Texas that I need to coordinate vet care for now but that’s for a different post. 🙏🏻

You all know that Frank decided to try out being a jumping horse and that didn’t go well. He broke our round pen so we had to rebuild it. It took us weeks to finish this project and we’re all relieved that it’s done! One more final update on it coming soon. Also, thank you to our friends who help us come work on projects here. by @deserving_paws

Everyone, please meet Keira. She’s a very special girl that unfortunately finds herself needing a very specific home. She was abandoned by her owner at a vet hospital and shortly after that one of the employees took her home and fell in love. Her human ended up getting pregnant and when they went to the hospital to deliver the baby Keira bit her caregiver in the arm and the face. She got startled while she was sleeping and the person was stepping over her. Keira is a very large dog and it would be irresponsible to keep her in a home with a small child. Her owners who still love her very much made the difficult decision to move her to my house until we can help find her a more appropriate home. I’m helping them get the word out about her because I know there’s a match out there for her. Keira has been very easy at my house- sweet, mellow and easy going. She’s great for her eye meds and anything else you need to do for her. She can be a nervous girl so she needs a very specific home. If you think that could be you please reach out to me. This is Violet and she’s the mom to the litter of puppies I originally took from Texas when I learned about this situation. I always felt so bad for leaving her behind that day but I knew I’d see her again and be able to reunite her with her puppies. When she first arrived she was so nervous and shut down but as soon as she saw me with her puppies she became incredibly playful. That was the missing link she needed to feel safe and comfortable here and since then she’s been so happy. She just got spayed so no more babies for her ever again and next weekend she will hop on transport up to Sonoma to be adopted by my aunt! by @deserving_paws
